Finally, I have been diagnosed, Active non Bacterium Tuberculosis. Apparently had this over a year ! It's treatable and curable, TB must

have become active just after the first Broncoscopy, PET scan didnt pick

Up due to continued infection and inflammation., a further Broncoscopy

last week picked it up.

Felt so ill the past week, if I can tolerate the medication, it's home next week.

Nothing alters the Bonchiectasis and Cryptogenic Pneumonia, sadly.

But hey, least they have found the issue

Oh dear, bad luck, but at least you now know what you’re up against & can start looking forward to feeling better 🤞

Will you be having “the big 3” antibiotics over the next 18months or so? Seems to be the usual treatment. My sputum has tested positive for this several times but (so far) it then recedes, so the decision has been not to treat it. Nevertheless they won’t let me take azithromycin in case it develops resistance.

I really hope that once you get on the right drugs you’ll start feeling much better soon.

Hope the treatment soon helps u feel better.I was reading yr bio+ struggle with thick mucous.ive bronchiectasis & many other lung probs.have they prescribed a mucolytic eg carbocysteine, to thin mucous - makes it easier to get up.expectoratng it is the main self care element in managing bronchiectasis. If u haven't been taught to do this,I would ask to see a respiratory physio while in hospital- they'll show u techniques to do this. U canread up on aluk website- lung clearance techniques x

It's good that they've found the cause, and better that it's treatable. I hope you're soon feeling better.

Do you maybe mean ‘non tuberculosis microbacterium’?

Thank you for the well wishes, I take Carbocisteine 2 capsules x 3 daily, pretty ineffective, I practice techniques along side this. I'm having excellent intervention in hospital. If I can get the headache and nausea under control, l can go home. Treatment is 6-12 months depending, challenging, Best Wishes
