I have COPD and in the last 6 months have been very breathless. I desaturate at the most basic things. I have had a scan and bronchoscopy, the broncoscopy revealed haemophilim influenza, given 10 days antibiotics which did nothing. Have had home Alice sleep test and waiting to see consultant in june. Anyone familiar with this?
Thanks

Not familiar with haemophilim influenza, but I do desaturate quickly more and more. Can you please update re what consultant says this month. Thank you.
My take is that 1) you have COPD which is likely worsening over time , 2) you may have had one or more exacerbations, and 3) you need to see a respiratory specialist/pulmonologist. Best Wishes, judg69
I have severe COPD Emphysema and heart failure and 5 years ago I contracted haemophilus influenza which led to viral pneumonia and respiratory failure and 19 days ICU ventilator. Since then bacterial pneumonia and heart attacks, strokes and gall bladder attacks and prostrate cancer misdiagnosed, Its all fun when we get older!! Seriously I also suffer what you describe and currently under going lots of tests but no clear answer. It is very debilitating. Keep us posted i you have any success or clarity.
I have bronchiectasis and have had a couple of haemophilus outbreaks. The only thing which seemed to clear the nasty little blighters was Co-Amoxiclav. Good luck I hope they soon find a treatment which works for you.
