I recently saw a consultant at hospital re my poor peak flow scores, needing reliever inhaler several times a day I was asked to take a FENO test which I failed after several attempts.. I'm now waiting for a CT scan and lung function tests and to see consultant in 8 weeks
I have asthma and am on Trimbow inhaler and use Pulmoclear in nebuliser for helping clear mucus
Just wondering what's ahead as I know I get breathless with very little exertion

Sorry I can't help you from experience. It must feel a very uncertain time for you. Are you able to contact the Asthma and Lung UK nurse for advice. They may be able to help you.
If it’s any thing like me CT scan, broncoscopy, 12 lead ECG, ultrasound on heart, blood tests. There are a lot of things that can cause breathlessness any lung/chest conditions and heart issues.
Have you been diagnosed with COPD too? From my understanding, asthma can be relieved with inhalers (which is why the do a reversability test) so your lungs should have been able to complete the Feno test? Also, again, I am no expert but I thought that mucus was COPD related rather than asthma?
Apologies, I thought that you meant that asthma was causing your symptoms. Many people have asthma/COPD overlap. Hopefully your CT scan will reveal what's causing them. Good luck.
I had a full lung function test at my local hospital recently and I was fine with the Feno test but when they put me into that cubicle and told me that they were stopping my oxygen I just panicked and couldn't go through with it. The guy who was doing the tests was very kind to me and wrote down that the machine was playing up and that's why I couldn't complete the test rather than saying that I refused so I certainly know how you feel about that!
Hopefully not. I've got an appointment to see the Respiratory Consultant next month so I'm guessing that she's got all the information that she needed.
We've gone off track a bit, talking about me 😏 I'm not sure what further lung function tests they will do as you seem to have had much the same ones as me but perhaps someone on here knows more? Again, I hope that after all your tests and your appointment, they will be able to give you something to improve your condition and let us know how it goes?
I didn't know that. I know 2 people with asthma and neither of them have that problem so I assumed that mucus was just COPD related. Thanks for sharing, I've learnt something new.
