Thank you HungryHufflepuff - After so many small canvases. I thought time to start again on a larger canvas, which allows for this type of painting. Bit of calm sun would be very welcome HH.

Ern, you are top dog when it comes to graduated colours and shading. This makes for a very memorable painting. The colours are beautifully folded into each other. I'm not certain what the fore ground represents but in my view, the inclusion of that 'strip' is genius. One of your very best. You must be very pleased with it.

Thank you Greenthorn. Being this was a much larger canvas than I had used for a while, I had much better takes of the forefrounf, but at a cost of looking silly as they show light fittings. The strip most affected, but really I wanted most part to have the strip higher than the beach,. I was pleased overhaul as I have not done this type for a while.

I suspected they were lights in the foreground and very cleverly painted but the strange thing is I now 'see" the beach when earlier this morning I just saw a band of colour! You haven't over painted have you? 🤪Perception is a funny old thing!

I think when you look at a painting it can change, due to differences in the light. I had other copies better than this, but being it's size, looked silly with ceiling lights visible.,.

I used to be fine with sun, but did look for shade at times, It was freakish hot one year in Corfu, coupled with high humidity, I could not breath proper. Turkey was hotter but never bothered me, I used shade at the httest times, It got to 45c when we was there,

Hi Ern, love this scene. It brings back memories of when I used to walk to the beach, there is a yacht club just along the seafront and I would see boats like this one all the time (no palm trees though 😁) Thank you for sharing xxx

I love this picture. I love the sun also but these days my health let's me down when it's very warm. Breathing is difficult especially if the atmosphere is humid.... hey pictures like this does lift you. Keep up the good work 👏

I am not allowed abroad anymore - I know what you mean, I went to Corfu about 6 years ago, was very warm and very humid, ok for Anne and my daughter but I suffered in that humidity - Was not as bad come sundown. Thank you Musicalways.

Such an idyllic, tranquil scene. I've never been a fan of hot weather (holidaying in Scotland this year, for the 4th year running!) but I would be delighted to spend time in this scene. Mine's a glass of cabernet sauvignon, please! xx
