has anybody here ended up with long covid and ended up with breathing difficulties afterwards and suffered reflux?
and if so what were your symptoms and issues?
I know I’ve done another post in regards to my breathing problems on here but looking for more insight and information to approach my nurse with Friday when I see her.
Hope everyone is well and as good as they can be.

I have stage 2 COPD, and I've suffered with Long Covid for over three years..Having Covid scarred my lungs and took my Copd from stage one to stage two. (I never knew I have stage one Copd, I was told Asthma) There is an overlap between Asthma and mild Copd anyhow.
After 3 years I have finally been diagnosed with ME/CFS.
First of all you need to calm down. I sense masses of anxiety from you. Anxiety/reflex/lung problems become a viscous circle, and it's normal, but you need to break the cycle of anxiety.
Yes I suffer with acid reflux. I try to eat plainly and not too late into the evening. Also I prop myself up with pillows to sleep.
First of all you need to try and remain stress free. You need to quit smoking! I smoked for 32 years, so I appreciate how tough it can be to quit. You need to stop overthinking about all your symptoms and just accept that you need to adapt to the current situation.
Have you had a look on the Asthma and Lung pages for coping skills?
Please don't take any of the above as condensending/overbearing..I was in your shoes two years ago.
I haven't got long covid, but plain covid just before Christmas really knocked me out and I caught a chest infection at the end of January. I'm still bringing up sputum (not much), and have occasional bouts of reflux. It's gradually getting better, as I hope yours will. Try to take some gentle exercise when you can, preferably outdoors- anything to get the blood circulating, but I think we have to be patient and let our bodies recover in their own time.
Simon has given you some excellent advice. Good luck. xxx
Strange you should ask that question Loooy19852, I have had all the Covid injections plus Covid19 itself . But since the last injection I have had many lung alterations and symptom increases . I am not diagnosed long term Covid and no one as yet as suggested that my problems maybe long Covid . My chest is worse than usual taste buds are changed and some reflux . I thought it was new drugs or last booster injection. After all these injections are only young in use on humans, even though they seem to do the job prevent serious illness doesn't mean they are perfect. We do not know . please let us know what your nurse thinks.
I read your other post and as SimonJJJ says, You seem very anxious - You can get help with that. You really to need your reflux sorting, it's as easy as getting your GP to give you something - Refux is no joke, I had it for years before I got treatment. That is important.
Stopping smoking - I did that I think 28 years ago, to be honest I was not that bad, had I not stopped, I doubt I would be typing this post.
Alberta56 is spot on, get yourself sorted with the nurse, then get some "gentle exercise"
I can't help you with Long Covid, I have just had ordinary Covid.
One thing - I had anxiety bad, my GP helped.
More so - I was given medication for reflux, that was life changing. Don't underestimate reflux (GERD) it's a misery ailment.
Your Nurse, tell her all you told us - Mainly Anxiety and reflux, also the problems you mentioned in your other post.
Laura there is help there, use it and please, consider stopping smoking.
Take care and make the most of the nurse appointment.x
I have Brochiecstasis and unfortunately caught Covid for the first time at Christmas 2023 and my breathing has definitely worsened since. I've upped my nebuliser and inhaler usage to try and help but it's really hard. I hope your appointment with the nurse goes well, please keep us posted x
