had a body scan and saw lung specialist showed me 2 he thinks small tumours on left lung doesn’t know if cancer or not as a biopsy would likely cause lung to collapse so to go back for c t scan in 3 months to see if any bigger if so probably cancer or might disappear so worried as while to wait what does anyone think would be thankful for a few replies take care all x

That is a worry for you primrose and a long time to wait. I do hope it’s not cancer but wish you could be seen sooner.

Had two myself, one few years ago which they chose not to tell me about, and another 3years ago for which I was given radio therapy for. the last one 3mm ,the first 7mm . the second has now gone and first reduced, and looks like it may also go. they did not seem too concerned so I was not.I believe if a certain side radio therapy can deal with them,so try not to worry too much. 😊

Primrose please don't get yourself all worked up and stressed about your 2 tumours! 🙏🥰 I know it's an anxious time! I had a Colposcopy December 2023 and I saw the scan as well! Glad I did! But just before Christmas I had a letter back to say I have CIN1 HPV Virus! I have to go to further yearly check ups and if it develops further for a Hospital treatment! I did worry about the results then but I felt assured by talking about it to others in the same boat as me!

So we are all here for you Primrose okay! Stay positive and keep yourself as well as you can!

Like syntax said he had 2 himself and one has gone already! As Donald said we are rooting for you Primrose okay! 💕💕💕

Thoughtless of the man to have mentioned cancer at all! Similar thing happened to me when I had a couple of lung nodules (very small tumours), but the consultant just said “we’ll repeat the scan in 3 months”, by which time they’d disappeared! Only then did he tell me they could've been cancerous, which I’d never thought of. He said they’d probably been caused by infection. I bet it’s the same for you x

Hi primrose71

Iam so sorry you are going through this.

I also had a scan showing nodules on the lung which I was told could be cancerous.

My lung was already collapsed so they went ahead with a bronchoscopy for a biopsy.

Waiting for the results caused so much anxiety and stress. The word itself just took over my mind.

Thankfully my results came back as normal and a different consultant told me most lung nodules are non cancerous and they are the result of old infections or scar tissue.

I hope everything goes alright for you. Sending hugs 🥰 wishing you a good outcome 💜

Issy x

on a positive note, I have a friend who has had a difficult journey with bowel cancer. Having had a following check-up scan a couple of years down the line, nodules were found in his lung. Of course, he dreaded the worst. But these were then biopsied and found to be benign. And the same for another friend with a ‘tumour’ in his kidney - 5 hour op to remove it and it was benign.

So without being glib, they really can turn out to be of no consequence, I know you won’t relax till you’ve had the all clear, but maybe you can focus on the good news stories. Keep us updated, metaphorically holding your hand on the way 🤞🕊️💐

What a worry for you...is this inside the lung? My son had a very rare tumour and he had a bronchoscopy to see exactly what it was. I can't understand why the consultant is waiting 3 months, I know you said to see if it gets bigger. Have you had any symptoms or was it found by accident? Best of luck x

hi hon, I had stage 3A non-small cell lung cancer. That was nine years ago. 8 years ago it came back. 6 tumors in my lung. Here’s what I did. I drink organic sour soup every day organic lemon in my water. Drank lots of water. I bought a Berkey) that’s the only things I drink. I only eat and drink organic food, but I also did castor oil wraps on my chest. They wanted to do chemo. I said NO they said I probably wouldn’t be coming back. Well, I did come back and I had clear scans. I have had clear scans since. I still eat really good. Still drink my sour soap now it’s just habit. A good habit at that cancer can be cured by the foods we eat. Would love to know how you’re doing. Will be praying for you. Believe and you shall be healed.❤️🙏❤️

Fircone profile image

Please can you tell me what sour soup is made of?

Tkmcc profile image
Tkmcc in reply toFircone

It is a plant and you wanna make sure that you get the organic soursop teabags and make sure it’s from Thailand. You can also get soursop leaves and do it yourself. You just boil them. But I would make sure on the packaging. It says they’re from Thailand and organic.

What a worrying thing for you to go through waiting for the next appointment, I really hope you have a good result and the diagnosis is not the big C .I do wish the consultant waited for sure before scaring you with this assumption.

Sorry to hear what you're going through and hope that you haven't got cancer. I have had cancer myself years ago and had a biopsy to confirm it.I'm under the impression that if the biopsy highlights cancer they will start treatment right away and you won't have to wait for another scan.

A friend of mine had lung cancer and the treatment was successful, as was mine.

More people are recovering due to medical advances so try and keep that thought in mind.

Hello primrose 71, sorry to hear yours is not good news but fingers crossed as I am in a similar situation. I had a skin cancer removed last August . A few months ago I had a problem in my ribs , which I felt was muscle pain from new tablets given . Sent for XRay which came up with three dubious areas one in each lung and one on kidney re Xray advised as lungs could be infection. On re Xray eight weeks later adviced they cannot rule out sinister things , so since then have had CT scan which again is not clear so on Thursday I go for a PET scan which should give some answers. These tests have taken around four months and still no definate result so I am sure your 3 months will soon pass and fingers crossed your lung may have cleared up . However I am afraid it does not stop us fretting does it ? To my way of thinking it is a lot of money for my tests . Plus it does not help all this maybes or perhaps. You would think all these new gadgets could be more specific. I will be thinking of you Best wishes for a clear lung. xx

Exactly the same happened to me. I had a call from the Lung Health team (no idea who they were but they offered CT scan). That was last April. In May last year had a call to ask me to go for a PET scan - from the PET scan went to see a consultant who said the PET scan showed a tumour at the lower side of the right lung.

A biopsy followed but they couldn't get enough material to confirm it was cancer or not.

Soon after had an appointment with another consultant and a surgeon. I was given the choice to leave the tumour and have a further scan after 6 months or have the tumour removed. At that point it could have been benign. I chose to have the tumour removed and that was last July. A very simple operation and the tumour was removed (a few nice little scars down my right side.) It turned out to be cancerous and I've just had another 6 monthly CT scan and that was all clear.

Please don't worry yourself too much. 3 months seems a lifetime to wait but many people have benign nodules in their lungs.

I think they worried more about me as I had a grapefruit sized tumour at the top of my right lung back in 2007 (missed by doctors and hospitals). That was inoperable but 12 weeks of all day Friday chemo and a month of radiotherapy every day afterwards, reduced that ******* to nothing.

Remember that lots of people have lung nodules (my sister who's 75 has 3 that were found in 2009 and those are just monitored every 2 years now).

Sorry, that was a long post!!!

Lots of love and hugs. Jan xxxx

I have a couple of nodules on my lungs and have been having follow-up ct scans for three years now. So far so good. I don’t know if a tumour and a nodule are the same thing or not. From what I have read nodules are fairly common and most are not cancerous. Did he say what size they are?

Issy22 profile image
Issy22 in reply tojackdup

Hi jackdup.

It all depends on the size. Nodules are smaller than 30mm ( roughly the size of a grape ) and tumours are larger than 30mm. x

Primrose. I have bladder Cancer and on top, I got two small growths in my lung, my BC was cancelled, not sure why but the concern was had it spread or was it new - It never got any larger, one was in my right lung Apex - dose not always mean cancer, I know how you are thinking - try not to get stressed, hard I know. good luck and wishing you well. :-)
