My lung cancer is 2x nodules attached to the pleura measuring 3.5cm and 2cm top right lung.

In CT scan it apears it hasn't spread and the lymohnodes are not effected, I await a PET scan then biopsy's then that will determ grade/cancer type.

Any advice would be apriciated.

The PET Scan really is a breeze, not much different to a CT Scan, just two real differences are an injection with a radioactive tracer and no requirement to hold your breath. After, you will have steer clear of pregnant women and children for 24 hrs and drink a lot of water to flush the tracer from your body.

After the injection you will be required to be in a relaxed state for about an hour either laying down or in a reclining seat whilst your body takes up the tracer, it would be a good idea to take a bottle of drink with you, an hour is a long time without wetting your whistle. You can always go to the toilet if you need to and advisable before the actual scan itself, which takes approx 20-30 mins.

No need to worry about this procedure at all, I have had three PET Scans now.

Hi there , hope you had a nice weekend. The size of the the nodules is within early stages but you will soon have the whole picture. The pet scan sounds a doddle it is the after treatment that's not so nice, the saying is "needs be". I hope all goes well for you and you might meet others who can advise you on how proceedures go for this kind of cancer, every best wish

Well if you want to try something different try alternatives. Frankincense helps cancer and lots of other things like hyperbaric oxygen, organic sulphur, but your doctor will never tell you this. Also LDN from clinic 158 in Glasgow is helping a lot of people. You could try alpha lipoic acid which is a natural anti oxidant but you have to use it with B vitamins as it depletes these. Just to let you know I had a thorocotomy 12 years ago. Top right lobe removed. Because the cancer hadn’t spread any further just 3 monthly then 6 monthly check ups for 5 years. If you have the op, it’s painful but, try to get used to using left hand as it makes making a cuppa easier and gentle walks everyday. Once u get discharged from hospital, apply arnica cream around the incision as once bruising out u can do so much more. I healed so quickly I was allowed to drive after 5 weeks. Oh and accupuncture to, before and after op. Really helps. Healthy, diet too. Good luck 🤞

Was at consultation last night, my stats and fitness levels are all looking good, thank God I've looked after me self 😂 i think they are looking at removing a third of the lung due to the size 3.5cm and 2cm beside each other and also being attached to the top right pluera, they showed me chest xray from 2016 and it wasn't there, think that's what they might do. Me, I just want it out and gone and never to return 👊.

Couldn’t beleive mine was there at all. Started with an earache🙄. Mine was on X-rays five years before, but they missed it. I had one tumour 2 cm. where u having your op🤔. I had mine in guys. Amazing home in five days. My husband told them to take the “most” so it wouldn’t return. 12 years on still ok. Lots of winter chest infections though. Please keep in contact. Would love to know how your doing 🤞

I strongly beleive having the man flu saved my life as if i didn't see my doctor then have a chest xray then this could be a lot worse. just hope they have could it in time.

You’ll know more with the PET scan. All really worrying until u know what’s happening and when. Once I was told about the tumour I was in “I’m gonna die” mode. And somehow your “brain” protects u👍 You go along with the flow, almost “watching yourself” as if it’s happening to someone else. Be kind to yourself. Eat well. Join support groups, get help from your Macmillan nurse . TBH all the years later it seems “surreal” Can barely see the scar . Got everything x’d for u 🤞🤞🤞
