Dr WHO I wonder.. havenโt seen a gp for more than three years, so no.. but boy have I done my research..inside out & back to front.. so glad I never had the jab.. would probably have finished me off! Iโm a tough old bird!
Hi chook, I really feel for you with long covid to cope with aswell. Haven't been the same since the dog attack, only trouble is trying something new all the time which doesn't work, having to wait longer than a month to try something else new. Like a vicious circle where your life is dwindling away just waiting. So I do feel for you and really hope you find something that works for you whatever it is. ๐ค๐ค๐ค๐
Hi adenough ๐โโ๏ธ, well done for making the most of every day๐โค๏ธ. I try to count my blessings, not always easy but when I crawl into my bed at 8 o'clock in the evening I am reminded that I have my own bed to sleep in. Some people don't ๐. Count myself very lucky for that. Also try to focus on things I've achieved (like walking to end of road and back) and not what I can't do anymore. Talking to you lovely people on this site has helped me to do that ๐xxxx
I'm happy to walk the 5 yards to the loo, and relieved to get there, but still pleased like you to have a bed to crash into, albeit usually at 3 in the morning as I'm an insomniac !
Oh is there something that stops you sleeping? I wake about every 2 hours in the night but that's due to a really dry mouth & throat that wakes me up - I then have to rush to the loo ๐ and back my bed again but it must be worse if, like you, you just can't sleep ๐xxx
I've had bouts of insomnia on and off for most of my adult life, nothing specific, just an overactive mind I guess. When I was physically more active I could go to bed and fall asleep in minutes, but now I spend nearly all day in my riser/recliner and can't seem to switch off. Regularly drop off for a few winks in the day, but wide awake at bedtime.
Oh that's miserable for you ๐. I am tempted to go to bed for a nap in the day but try to just go to bed early. I sit up intending to do crosswords for a bit but fall asleep after about 10 - 15 minutes๐ (I'm awake every couple of hours due to very dry mouth and a need to rush to the loo as I said but am lucky in that I sleep in between. Have a wedge pillow and 2 pillows on top cos can't breathe laying down, like most of us dodgy lung people. Wish there was a cure for your insomnia as it must be hard to deal with xxx
It's not great, but there are people who are far worse off. Like you, I sleep in a semi-upright position, can't lye flat. I also have to use a nasal vent (CPAP I believe) as I am a CO2 retainer, but once asleep I can get a full uninterrupted 5 hours, so It's not all bad.
Unable to sort my body clock, awake till at least 5am tried everything but no meaning I sleep in the morning, not waking up before midday, so annoying but on the bright side I do wake up๐๐๐
Hi AdenoughI too am grateful for every new day. I too have cold and long covid. In fact they came together for me. Last four years been serverly difficult. Everything I chose to day involves pacing choices research and timing. Wish you all the best ๐๐ป
