Sorry I'm stalking you all but I'm really fighting this battle, I've been expelling mucus from 4pm till now 11.30pm and I've been breathing thro a straw or that's what it feels like , I am so exhausted I know I can feel still an obstruction at the back of my nose/throat but I can breath ok because I'm now laid down, if I don't carry on wretching the Muke up will it just be absorbed somewhere or am I likely to choke , so scary ..... any advice pls xx

Oh dear Carol, how dreadful for you, no wonder you're exhausted. I feel sure your automatic "gag" reflex would kick in to stop you choking, so although it's scary I don't think I'd worry about that. If you can breathe now, lying down, I think it's important for you to rest. I think you should collect 24hours' worth and take the actual physical quantity to show your consultant, next time you go.

Hi hanna, yes I've thought of doing just that because when I tell them they just shrug n say well that's the nature of the beasts but that's not helpful to me, it's so disabilitating, I darent go anywhere or plan anything because of it , thanks for your kind words xx

Do you have an infection with getting so much mucus up, its awful isn't it. That flutter device looks good, I find for me personally walking helps clear my lungs but I'm not on oxygen xx

Hi Tracy , it has increased doubled in fact past couple of weeks so I have started my rescue antibiotics to see if that does anything, thanks xx

So sorry you're still struggling with this excess mucus Carol. It sounds horrendous.

The flutter looks very helpful. I use a saline solution in my nebuliser which I find very good at bringing the yuck up.

I'm wondering what the obstruction is at the back of your nose/throat. I used to have post nasal drip which solidified at the back of my nose/throat. Using a Neti pot has helped enormously with that.

Hope you can find a solution soon.

Xx

Hi moody girl, I do do a nasal rinse every couple of days it's unbelievable the amount I flush out there is no wonder I can barely breath ! I feel like I've constantly got a bad cold, tried anti histamine and nasal sprays galore, nothing changes unbelievable the amount of mucus I get rid of on a daily basis it's been happening for over three years but the past 12 months 😰 Just awful, thanks for replying xx
