Here we go again......

Good afternoon, I didn't post in the summer although did enjoy reading many posts. Summer was lovely and we were all very well.

Two weeks ago we all had colds, I started with sore throat, blocked nose then dry cough then wet cough. Now I'm totally chesty, mucus is only clear or white. Breathing is slow and laboured, there's no crackle though. I'm shattered, ache all over an last night had rapid heartbeat. Had tummy probs too but I think that was the Beneylin mucus syrup maybe as it happened shortly after a took a dose of it. So I'm gonna leave that alone for now.

Went to Drs again today and she said chest was clear so no pneumonia infection but she said bronchitis which I suspected. She gave me week of Clarithromycin twice a day to take. I've taken first dose with late lunch and got some probiotics from H&B. Now I feel very sick and have no appetite at all, although I will force myself to eat dinner.

I'm worried as when I did have pneumonia they said I had Bronhcitis, although I don't feel as bad as I did then so I suppose I'm perhaps just being silly. I havent had a fever and have been taking my temperature regularly but do feel chilly sometimes but it is getting colder and I think you can feel bit chilly with Bronchitis.

Should I give these abs a few days and see if I start to improve, obviously if I suddenly get a high temp then I'll get that seen to. I'm also scared of the side effects of these tablets as I've read some people have terrible problems with them. I'm so tired an trying to look after my kids and keep the house and work too!

I hate the winter! And we're not even there yet. Anyway I'm sorry I didn't post in the summer I hope everyone on here is keeping well and had a lovely summer. We definitely couldn't complain about the weather this year!

That sound pretty rotten Shancock and I can really sympathise with you. As you know it’s Pete with the COPD and sarcoidosis but I’ve had this horrible virus for 2 weeks now. It started as a cold which was mild but I have a phlegm producing cough and feel like rubbish.

I’m desperate to keep Pete well and we have the flu jab booked for Saturday. I don’t think I’ll be well enough.

Feeling chilly yet warm all at the same time. May just have to phone GP tomorrow.

Hope you feel better soon. See how the antibiotics go.

Oh dear hope you get over it soon. I had to put my flu jab off too. I work with children so colds are everywhere! I try my best to keep to my bet hygiene and dose up on vitamins and honey.

The abs are already making me feel strange and very sick, I think I'll call Drs in morning and see what they say. If it helps with the cough then I'll continue I suppose.

Do ring the doctor if still feeling nauseous, you’ve got enough to put up with.

The antibiotic you’re on is one I actually get on with. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi sassy59, it seems so many of us have been/are still ,unwell. This is the longest ever for me and second course of AB's. My parents are both unwell and elderly so I'm doing as much as I can. Hope you recover soon and Pete stays well too.

Sorry you are unwell..clarithromycin is tough on the tummy, I have simple stock and rice, easy non-greasy food, small meals and plenty to drink..if you notice adverse effects not common side effects consult your pharmacist or GP .
