Perhaps you need to go to out of hours or speak to your GP

If it gets worse I will do but just taken naproxen 500ml as that what I had when I was taken in hospital with the same symptoms

Thank you for your reply as you don't feel so alone as my husband had throat cancer so he got no voice box x

Hi Bosto and welcome to the site. I cant advise you on your condition and would only advise you to go back to your gp. So sorry to hear that your husband has suffered cancer as well. This must be terribly hard for you both. I wish you well and hope that you can find some relief x

I have had pleurisy a couple of times, and am wondering if that is what I have right now. Afraid to cough because of the stabbing pain, using paracetamol and codeine they take the edge off. And my rescue pack of amoxycilin. Hope we both get well soon. X

Hi I hope you had a good night's sleep. Just wanted to commiserate as I've had pleurisy a few times, so painful.

Will you go to GP for confirmation of diagnosis of pleurisy? Just to be on the safe side. It's easily done with a stethoscope Bosto. Get a fit in appointment in the morning unless you've been able to go to an out of hours clinic.

I just took paracetamol as cannot take nurofen/ibuprofen. I think doc also prescribed antibiotics.

Good luck. P

If they say no then just reply in the nicest possible way that no, you need to see a doctor that very day as your lungs are comprised.

Please dont wait for it to get worse. Please see your gp or an out of hours walk i clinic if you have one in your area. Pluracy is very painfull and needs to be treated as soon as possible the recovery time is often less if treated early. I hope you are soon better
