Anyone asking about Trimbow inhaler

Hello I have been on Trimbow inhaler for 1 year and 8 months as my COPD is classed as medium to high. My COPD was found when I had lung Cancer on my left top lung and when I had cancer operation in April 2021 to take cancer out that's when they saw COPD on cancer lung and one of the remaining left lung. I take my in haler the Trimbow twice a day in the morning and evening before bed and keeps mucus of my chest. I also have my COPD area nurses and their number if I have problems with breathing but that God I don't need them just yet but they do check in on me now and then which is weight of mind. I take my in haler regular and last 2 months all I I want to say is I'm here if anyone needs help. I should admit I'm scared of getting ill but I have a strong family and nurses if and when it gets bad. It will never be fixed but I don't smoke and I exercise when I can and all this can slow it down a little to last a bit longer when older. But please contact me if you need chat on Trimbow or cancer on lung. And I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and all the best for 2024. Thank you. Jojoclown.

Hi Jojoclown, what a pleasure to read your post, someone on the same wave length as myself .I too have Trimbow which I use twice daily, i had 2 tumours on my right lung which were removed by having the whole lung removed back in 2012, I was told I had moderate copd ,

I my adrenal gland removed in2015 due to a cancer which stemmed from the lungs.

I have always been short of breath but have coped pretty well for a 74 year old.

However I caught Covid last September and although It wasnt too bad it weakened my immune system.

Now I have got this new virus thats going round coughing/wheezing/ and very short of breath. I have a repiratory nurse and a wonderful local GP. who have helped me. I now have a nebuliser to help clear my chest , (Its amazing how much rubbish it can clear).

You seem to be very organised and positive with your health and I admire you for that.

Sadly I did use to smoke and gave up on my retirement, but alas it wasnt soon enough. I joined Quit Support through healthunlocked and it was so supportive and helped me quit smoking. When I found out about the cancer they helped me through that as well.

I now help to run the forum and help others where I can.

This forum is brilliant too.

Happy New Year. x

Hello jillygirl thank you for message it's nice to people on here are willing to talk. I'm 49 years old and I had COVID in December 2020 this was mildly but then in January started being a touch out breath th late in February 2021 was getting a lot of pain when I breath under left shoulder blade and under left ribs. Then went for x ray in first week of March and had a scan two days after and then go said I have 2 and half cm tumor then my world ended. But then my world lifted when tumor was taken out but I'm also thank ful for cancer team noticing the COPD as I don't know how long it would of been before I got poorly with that. I love life to full now after cancer and I know COPD won't get better but I will do everything so it won't kill me early. I have a stick due to constant back pain and wheel chair if I get tired of walking or breathing gets bad in that I might take blue inhaler more than normal than I know need the wheel chair. But I do my best and keep smiling. I'm glad your doing ok in your 70s we should help each other on here and now I know your all here to help me and others who have COPD problems. Thank you and Happy New Year too you. Jojoclown xxx

Thank you Mellywelly. I will enjoy New Year's Eve later with my husband having a nice home cooked beef and roast potatoes and sprouts later and a glass of wine then later on doing buffet for our neighbor next door and bring New Year in we are celebrating our new year with two years of being lung cancer free since April 2021. So that's great for me and also light candle for my husband's dad who died Christmas day 2022. It's been hard for husband this year as he has been missing his dad and has been depressed too. But he is starting to get his self on track for 2024. Hopefully he will be better. Anyway have a lovely new year and have fun. All the best to you. Xx😄
