Side effects now starting to affect me after 1 weeks of nebulised colomycin

Hi All

I've recently been put on nebulised salbutamol and colomycin after being colonised with Pseudomonas.

For the 1st week everything was going fine but now the side effects are starting to kick in (Fuzzy head,Headache,More sputum production,Fatigue, nausea)

I seem to always do this when I start new medication and I'm wondering have other people who are nebulising the same medication suffered the same but eventually after sticking with it have things improved and now are you fine taking this medication

many thanks

Are you working too hard on the nebuliser? You only need to breathe normally. I would look at the producing more sputum as a plus as it means you’re getting it up out of your lungs. Did you have iv antibiotics before starting on the nebuliser? If not it maybe the pseudomonas still lurking.

Hi Mooka

I'm just breathing as normal and yes had 2 weeks of iv treatment before I started on my colomycin,Like you i agree it's good I've got more sputum production but I feel like I've had 10 pints of lager after I've used it

Do you have specialist nurses you can contact? If not I would ring your consultants secretary and check with them. There are other meds you can use.
