Pete and I always have our jabs and we’ve had our covid ones already. No problems really apart from a sore arm and Pete felt off colour for a few days. Much better than getting covid. Hope that helps xxx

The vaccine is the smart option. BERNARDINE

No, I'm not worried in the slightest about having the covid vaccination or the boosters. I'd be much more worried about getting covid badly hence having had all that I'm entitled to as well as the flu vaccinations. (and pneumonia, diphtheria, polio, whooping cough, smallpox, yellow fever, cholera, TB and recently shingles). To me it's a no brainer. If I do have the misfortune to catch covid I know it will be milder than if I hadn't been vaccinated. So far I've been lucky or perhaps it's because I've taken care with hygiene, not hugging, avoiding crowded places, wearing mask if needs be, keeping my immunity high and keeping abreast of the latest information.

I am exactly the same.

I have had everything that was offered and touch wood , I haven’t had Covid, Flu, or shingles.

Better safe than sorry .

I agree peege. I'm just waiting for the shingles vaccine now to make the hat trick.

Same Carole. My sister had shingles recently and was extremely sick. Still suffering three months later. xx

Yes, it's a very unpleasant and painful illness.

I'm with you there, PG. The one time I caught covid, last year, it was quite mild because I had all the jabs. I'm fortunate that I don't get a bad reaction to inoculations usually.

I’ve had my jab yesterday Have a sore arm but otherwise ok.

Catching covid is much more scary for me than having the covid jab.

Take care

Don't let anyone persuade you to do something you don't feel comfortable with.

True, except I think your trusted medical professional (be it a nurse, doctor, or respiratory therapist) should be able to give you advice that you can trust. If you don't have a trusted medical professional in your life, then do the work to build a relationship with one so you can get sound medical advice.

I see what you are saying but I still stand by the comment I made. No matter how hard a relationship is worked on we cannot make a person honest. How many people have trusted and been hurt in this case?

I’ve had all my Covid vaccinations - 8 in total. I got covid once after 4 doses, when my immunity was low. It really affected my chest and I had an antiviral infusion which stopped covid in its tracks. In vaccination al, the way.

I would definitely recommend having the jab. My partner caught COVID & he has been really ill with it, he hasn't had his COVID jab yet. Unfortunately I caught covid from him, I have emphysema, chronic bronchitis, mild bronchiactesis, asthma & lung cancer. Thankfully I had the COVID jab at the end of September & my symptoms have been relatively mild compared to my partner. I'm being monitored by the hospital in case I need the anti virals. I can't have the tablet form of anti virals due to other medication so I would have to go to the hospital for an infusion if needed. Obviously I'm avoiding the hospital as much as possible as COVID is on the rise around here according to the doctor. Stay safe and well xxx

Please don’t hesitate, get the vaccine asap, yes you may get a reaction, I did and was quite poorly for a few days but it was a few days. I’ve had covid last year and it makes you very poorly, my husband also caught covid at the same time, he has severe immune disorders and was very very ill, we have had all the covid vac offered so thank goodness able to get through this, but I’m quite sure he would of ended up in hospital on a ventilator if he hadn’t of had any vaccines. Please get this very important vaccine .

Hi I had covid and flu jabs last week at the same time and wasn't sure whether to go through with having them .the decision to go ahead was what if I was really poorly during the winter and got covid or flu I probably won't be able to shake it off easily without infection or antivirals. Hence the decision was made no issue after having them a week on

I would not tell anyone what to do, however having the flu and covid vaccination is something I would not miss.It is a personal choice

I had the booster a couple of weeks ago with no effects at all. Hope this helps

To me it's a no brainer. I've had 8 now and the last 3 caused a sore arm for 7 days and flu like symptoms for 24 hours. Last year I got covid and my lung specialists said it was covid boosters that stopped me getting really Ill. All I got was a sore throat and felt fluey for a few days.I also have leukaemia and my immune system is impaired.

BrigidsFire profile image

I’ve also had all 8. I had a crappy couple of days after some, but not others. I also have lupus, so it may have been that.

I’ve also had covid 3 times (my husband does foreign travel at least fortnightly for work, so we expect bugs to be caught).

The first time after 2 jabs I was hospitalised for 4 days for monitoring but not put on oxygen. I think that was a precaution because my sats kept dropping and it was all very new still back then. I was also the only one on our ward who had had the jabs, and the only one who didn’t end up in ICU.

The second time after 4 jabs I was ill enough to lay on the sofa and do nothing for about 5 days but not enough to go to hospital.

The third time after 6 jabs I felt like I had a cold.

Seems like they’re doing their job, for me at least, and I’ll continue to have them while they’re offered. I also have the flu jab at the same time as my winter covid booster. I’ll have the shingles jab as soon as I’m eligible as I’m only 46 so not old enough yet, but I had shingles before my immune system was compromised, and it was grim. I’ve also had the pneumonia vaccine too.

Hello 😊 I personally, have had no hesitation in having the jabs, in fact all jabs going! I have severe COPD and believe I would I would be extremely ill if I caught Covid. I had Covid and flu on the same day and had nothing more than a sore arm (Covid side) and slept alot the next day. My advice would be have them, but it is of course entirely up to you 😊 xx

I was rushed to hospital in June with Covid, pneumonia and an unidentifiable super bacterial infection. I have all my jabs and just think maybe I wouldn’t have made it without them. I wouldn’t wish Covid on anyone, nor the accompanying pneumonia etc. Have the jabs!

I'll have every jab going.

I’ve had all my covid jabs. No bad experiences. I think AstraZeneca was causing the bad side effects and they’re not using it now. It’s pfizer, sanofi or Moderna at the moment xx

I've had all the jabs and boosters (Pfizer) and never had a problem with any of them. And I've never had Covid.

I'm not worried I'm just not having it I know too many people including myself who now have long term health issues after having them. I won't go into reasons probably not allowed on here, we all have to make our own choices xx

I recently had the covid booster and felt very ill the next day with a splitting headache, nausea and fever, It only lasted a day or so, and now I am back to normal. I remember having similar symtoms when I had Covid but it lasted much longer. Yes, the vaccine can cause side effects, but they are milder than catching the virus.

Jaybird19 profile image

yes have it . there are problems and you might feel ill but i doesnt last . i had bad reaction to this last one like having flu for day or two .

. had various vaccine jabs for infectious diseases repeated all my working life as i was working with bugs on open bench. I never had reactions apart from ssore arm and once they prepared the vaccine a different way and everyone at work was ill.

, i think this one could do with more time spent on purifying it but time was against them as this strain was spreading rapidly. better than nothing and better than having covid and the damage that can do ..

I got the booster and two weeks later sat in the car and ate dinner with someone who got really sick the next day (so she was probably really contagious.) I got a sore throat but recovered quickly and never tested positive. So get the booster and boost your immunity!

Well.... had my booster scheduled for next week and both my husband and I caught Covid and have been ill for the last 5 days. My doctor put me on Plaxlovid... my husband is unable to use it due to another med he takes. I thought this variant had milder symptoms.... doesn't seem mold to me!! The fever and fatigue are the worst!! Wish we would have scheduled our booster earlier!!
