My Inhalers are being replaced by Trimbow 88/5/9. Does anyone use this inhaler and if yes do you carry a Steroid Emergency Card? I’m not using any other steroids currently. I’ve bronchiectasis & asthma. Thanks.

Trimbow 88/5/9
I have been on inhaled steroid for years and never carried a card, I have for Pred in the past. When i spotted your post i googled it and yes many say you need a card, I have never heard that before.
Hi, I've had a blue steroid card for several years due to inhalers . When using inhalers containing steroid we need to & it must be mentioned on medication lists fir things like dentists. For ie they give anaesthetic injection containing no adrenaline at dentists instead of the normal one which does contain adrenaline.
I Live and learn peege, all these years I thought only tablets required a card,
I don't think I'd ever taken prednisolone for my lungs when the respiratory nurse insisted I had the blue steroid card. I'd only taken them in 2007 after a sinus op for a few days.
Actually, I've no idea if Trimbow contains steroid 🤔
i don`t know this? I was switched to Trimbow on my last long stay in hospital and there was no mention of this I did have a patient info card for istaban for pulmonary embolism and had the card renewed by hospital.
Interesting though, thanyo for the information and Trimbow has made a big difference to my general health.
OH, I have had no problems with Trimbow, Just remember to wash your mouth out with water.
Thanks for advice. I have found a site that says a card is recommended. Perhaps more surprisingly the Fostair 200/6 that I’m currently using, at the direction of the consultant, is meant to have a card but it wasn’t issued. Currently querying with G.P. asthma nurse whether I should drop from high dose inhaler 200mg beclomethasone to a lower one at 88mg. More-so I was on Fostair 100/6 and then raised to 200/6, as the latter wasn’t really working. Hey, ho, will get there in the end. Glad to hear Trimbo works for you.
Thanks.
I have recently had my inhalers changed to Trimbow, I have been carrying a blue card for many years now but have only had to produce it a few times in that time. Hope it works out well for you as it is for me. Trimbow does contain steroids, I asked my doc before I changed to it and she said it does.
I’ve been on Trimbow for almost 3 years. Nobody has ever mentioned carrying an emergency steroid card to me. Good luck on the change over to Trimbow, for me it works very well so hope it does for you
Hi I don't carry a blue card around but I do carry a steriod emergency card which is red, this was sent via letter from my gp. I have been taking steriods for years but in the last 4 to 5 I have been taking more to control my asthma. I take Trimbow 172/5/9,but also Clenil Modulite 100, Uniphylin and Montelukast. I received the information about the emergency card when I was taking Sprivia Respimat and Flutiform which were the highest medication my gp could prescribe.
Trimbow is a combined corticosteriod.
I use the Trimbow inhaler and have never carried a steroid card. Hope this helps
Thanks.
I take Trimbow 87/5/9 (must look up the differences denoted by the numbers), it works very well for me and I hope it does for you too.
Yes I have a blue card, well a few actually, the hospital seems to give me one every time I visit them! My doctor didn't deem it necessary but my respiratory nurse was quite miffed and told me to get one from them (the hospital got in first!).
Good luck xx
No - Trimbow does not contain a high dose corticosteroid. I have never heard of anyone needing a steroid card for Trimbow.
Thanks.
I take a different inhaler but was advised to carry a RED steroid card - got from a chemists. If I have to take steroid tablets I also carry my blue card for a couple of months after I have finished them.
Thanks.
I myself on trimbow next inhaler I've never card carried or being asked to so just wondering why would we need to sorry if I my post sounds odd it's just I've been on inhaler 5 yrs and it's never been mentioned to me
Thanks.
I don’t know the answer I’m afraid
I used to take Trelegy and when I became quite unwell 7 years ago the inhaler was changed to Relvar 188/22. At that time I was sent, in the post, a steroid card, which I carry with me all the time.
No one has ever asked to see it though so I wonder how useful it actually is ?
Better safe than sorry though eh ?
Go well,
Pauline
Thanks.
Yes, @Porthy1, my inhaler Flutiform has been replaced with Trimbow but I couldn’t cope with it, so I’ve only got the rescue inhaler now. Flutiform was a steroid medication so I did always have a steroid user card with me. I was happy with it but no reason was given as to why it was stopped.
