That's pretty good to me whit. If you’re unsure then contact your GP. Is 50/51low for you? I’m usually 60+ but we’re all different. Take care xxxx
Seems a little on the slow side, personally I would get it checked by a nurse or nurse practitioner, good luck
Having gone to Dr Google….. it seems a little on the low side. However that could be caused by a multitude of reasons including needing a new battery in meter! Have you any other symptoms such as dizziness or feeling unwell? I agree that it would be wise to have a medic check it out.
I think it would depend on your age, physique, fitness and perhaps the way you breathe. I'm no expert of course. I worry that mine's high at 58 to 60 resting when in younger years it was always 46 to 48 but I was two stone lighter then, very fit & active. Blood pressure was always lower than average too but now I have to take meds for high BP. I think if youre worried you'd better see a professional for a check up.
PS I've been wearing the same Fitbit for over 6 years which measures heart rate, sleep, steps, exercise etc (not O2 because it's an old model). For £99 with a free app to check it's been brilliant.
I think it varies from person to person but 50 sounds low to me. My husband has a pacemaker and that is set with a resting pace of 60 so it doesn’t disturb his sleep. I would keep an eye on it at various times of the day and how you are feeling - are you dropping off to sleep, feeling dizzy etc
If its not normal for you then definitely vet it checked x my normal heart rate is like 90 to 99 so it's different for everyone. Hope you find out what's causing it 😉
My oxygen nurse said to me if my heart rate is low then that means my heart isn't working overtime to get the oxygen around my body! Although I scared myself watching my oximeter one day, just sat watching tv. My SATs were steady at 91 but my heart rate was going down, when it got to 20 I thought to myself am I going to watch myself die on my oximeter!!! Deep breaths and calming myself down brought it back up to the 80's.
Hi - Resting Heart rate of 50/51 is lower than the what is considered normal 60 BPM. Athletes are prone to having HR of 50 or under,
My resting heart rate if often in the 30's the lowest being 32 BPM - I printed of from oxymeter and showed it cardiologist. Three years later I was diagnosed as having Bradycardia as the consultant had ordered a 24 ECG which showed my resting heart rate ent into the 30s.
If you are worried contact your GP. It's a resting hear rate you have .
Usually 60 to 100 but we are all different . xxSheila 🙏🤞⚘💕
remember as Sheila said we are all different. Always best to get checked out if you’re worried. My resting heart rate used to be in the high 50s to Low 60s but from last year it has risen to mid 60s. I’m 69 and fairly active. X
Has it always been that low or is this just something new? As has been said everyone is different. Mine drops into the 50s when I am sleeping and occasionally into the 40s. My Mom was the same way and was checked and everything was fine. It never hurts to check with your doctor just to be sure. If it is something new then I would definitely get it checked. It could very well be that is just how you are.
This is a good h.rate, dont worry, mine is around50 - 54 but on Bisoprolol it goes down to 45, again my GP says, even at this rate unless i feel dizzy or whatever, just go with it. They say the lower the h.rate the healthier the heart, mind has been in low 50's all my life, am not an athlete, but athletes nearly always have lower than 60. Time to be concerned if it suddenly goes higher than normal and stays there.
