Evening fatigue and heart rate

Does anyone else feel Ok in the morning, but in the afternoon around supper time I have very little stamina. Doing anything physical lowers my O2 to around 88 and my heart rate to over a 100bpm. In a couple of minutes my O2 will go back up to 92-94.

It may depend on how active you have been and what energy levels you have exhausted. Given that your oxygen levels and heart rate soon recover I don't think there is much to be concerned about. Perhaps your body is just telling you it's time to rest.

I think you are. I don't seem to have any stamina at all now but we keep plodding on. Take care.

I am similar. I used to go into the kitchen to start on dinner at about 4, it got so I couldn't cope with it, I enjoy cooking but it just became a dreadful toil. Relief inhaler helps but I just get in there an hour earlier now. Mentioned it to the Dr. and he prescribed a second inhaler which I take at 10 am and 4 pm. That helps too.

Me too. Morning usually fine. Fall asleep after lunch. Wake up in time to cook dinner. Feel exhausted; doze most of the evening; sometimes quite perky around midnight. It's not an ideal lifestyle.🙃🙃🙃

Hi, I always try to cook at midday nowadays, as I don’t have much energy or breath in the evening. We always fall asleep after eating, and wake up refreshed for the afternoon. Worth trying a change in your routine?

I've had similar problems recently with a drop in o2 after even slight activity, such as making a cuppa and bringing it through to the lounge - about a dozen steps each way.

My paroxysmal atrial fibrillation has recently gone into overdrive and I've been retaining a lot of fluid which is now much improved due to taking a diuretic. My GP is inclined to think my o2 drops are down to my heart rather than my lungs.

Do you have any heart issues? It might be worth getting checked out.

xx Moy

Thanks for the reply. I had a chemical stress test and a echo card in the spring and got a clean bill of health.

Hi Macnsyl,My oxygen levels drop a lot in the evening and I become a lot more breathless. I don't cook, as I can't cope with the humidity - my husband does it, but even so, I find it very hard to be in the kitchen. An extractor helps.

I get low oxygen levels - 81, and a fast heart rate - 115 bpm. Oxygen level comes up to about 91/92 if I don't do anything, but is always higher in the morning.

I take maintenance medication at night, as I found this to be more effective.

Just put myself on a short course of steroids, as I've been so breathless!
