I was given a prescription for Oramorph to help with breathlessness but I'm a bit anxious about side effects. The leaflet says it could lower heart rate.... sometimes I get a notification on my Fitbit....heart rate 44 or so ...last night at one point it was 36. The rate usually goes up again fairly quickly ..to something in the 50's. Haven't had a chance to check with GP or pharmacist yet...

Oramorph and heart rate

Check with a pharmacist is your best bet if it takes longer to get to your gp, but I think all these things they give you can either work well or give you other symptoms. Drives you nuts. Good luck 👍 😉
....or give the helpline a quick call
Thanks peege ... should have thought of that 🤣
If your pulse is down to 36, needs careful watching. Talk to your GP and ask if there is an alternative. Take care, Chris.
I hope you soon get an answer. It's disconcerting when your pulse rate drops like that. Mine did last summer, but it came back up before I got round to doing anything. I hope yours will too, with or without Oramorph. xxx
Hi HerLadyship - I have a slow hear rate my lowest ever as far as I know was 30BPM - I take Oramorph and has no effect on mt heart rate at all.
At first I was concerned as Iget low blood pressure, but I get that without Oramorph.
Reading the leaflet you will always find the worst that canhappen,
If you are worried might I suggest to ring your pharmasist - They know the safety of drugs no matter what.
To finish it's never lowered my hear rate from what it normally is..
