That certainly does sound promising. And I don’t think they will be short of volunteers. Let’s just hope they have the funding.

That sounds an exciting development. Very modern solution and may not be that invasive. Lets hope the trials in China lead to more treatments for severe lung disease all around the world.

It all sounds very interesting and promising. Let's hope people over here are taking an interest in these results and looking at making our lives better. Brian

It does sound hopeful, and as Ergendl says not too invasive.

I often wonder why, when so many people are affected, there seems to be little or no profile on lung disease. Don't get me wrong, I am pleased other diseases grab the headlines, MND (from which my mother died) for instance , as are various types of cancer etc. But, as the World Health Organisation table for 2019 shows COPD is the third highest killer and up from 2000. So why the disproportionate focus?

Anyway, good news and with more research it sounds as though these results can be improved. Bravo xx

The promising thing for me is that it is working on humans. More often than not these things are tested on mice where they get positive results, but then sadly don't work on humans.

Wow, if I get called up, I'm gone. Sounds very interesting and hopeful. I've been diagnosed with severe emphysema and I don't want a lung transplant but this I could cope with. Lesley xx

thanks for posting the link and it certainly sounds encouraging. I hope it does develop into a treatment that is available to all and is either a cure or that can improve one’s condition and stop any further progression of the disease.
