I feel very guilty for not having updated everyone. Sadly my condition is very much like it was before I had the lung reduction surgery. Barts are thinking of having me back in to try something else.
However, I have got myself a new furry friend who is helping my mental state enormously. I have a friend who walks him everyday with her dog, and I have help with many other things too.
This is my new boy. His name is Droopy and he is 4 years old, which is very young for a retired racer.
Droopy is gorgeous. I agree that pets, especially dogs - I’m a bit biased because I have two - are very good for your mental health.
Droopy is very similar in looks to my previous greyhound Fidget. However, his temperament is very different. He keeps me on my toes, but I could not have him if I didn't have help. I was very down for two years without a dog as I have always had them. What have you got?
I have 2 schnoodles, poodle/schnauzer crosses. We’re living with my daughter at the moment after I collapsed and then spent 10 weeks in hospital. I’m walking with a zimmer frame so my daughter walks the dogs, but to be honest, they are the laziest dogs ever! Once I’m home I hope I’ll be able to walk them, or I’ll have to get a dog walker.

droopy looks gorgeous and very relaxed. He will be great company for you. I also have to have my dogs walked by a walker and I so wish I could have continued to do so. Lovely to see them come home though All the best to you and Droopy

Droopy is gorgeous, mine is called Juke, he’s 5 and yes, couch potatoes and excellent companions.

I miss my dog Sam. He was an exceptional dug.. he liked everyone and everyone liked him.
He did however see the baddies away with a warning snarl But he really was a wonderful friend and is still much loved and remembered by the family.

What a gorgeous new companion, your Droopy. We have Freddie at church - a regular attender who is a great welcomer and likes to sit with his human in the choir stalls. Loves biscuits and cuddles, hates his ears being touched (so occasional yelps in the sermon!).
