Boxing Day Walk- Me Too

Like Blackbird I went for a Boxing Day Walk. The weather was so lovely it tempted me to forget preparing food, and daughter came out of hibernation to came with me. I wasn't sure how far I'd get, because, what with one thing and another, mainly bronchiectasis, I haven't been out muc In fact we got right out into the country up a nice quiet lane, and my inner bird watcher was happy to see some redwings perched in a tree do the lane, load in very pink underneath in the morning sun. Non birdwatchers will no doubt be bored to know these are Scandinavian thrushes which come to us in the winter to scoff all our berries. We also saw two red kites, one twisting and swooping over the fields, showing off all its handsome colouring. We ended up walking 3 miles, which is about 2 and a half miles more than I thought I could and I didn't feel the least fatigued. Not until we got home and I spent most of the rest of the day asleep. 🙂😩🙂🙂

Well done Alberta, that’s a brilliant walk. Glad you got to bird watch too. I love seeing different birds but we mainly get crows, magpies and gulls here. Take care xxxx

Your walk and bird sightings sound lovely Alberta. I enjoyed your descriptions, it was a dull, wet day where I live.

It was dull and wet the following day. We must get the same weather a day after you do.

Sounds like you had fun on that walk Alberta56 and what a way to go. I love to see the birds, we have magpies, little sparrows, robins, blackbirds but not as many as we used to have . 3 miles is a good walk so well done x

We hardly get any birds in the garden these days. So sad. I used to buy bird food by the sack full.

I know its so sad that we have lost alot of our garden birds, they say that slug pellets were a major cause of this so I stopped using them. I can remember years ago when coming home from work the roofs were lined up with birds and the noise was incredible, now the garden is so quiet its eerie. I live in hope that we can find a turn around for this x

Well done and what a walk you enjoyed. I walked round to my local heritage house to feed the ducks. I was excited to see the resident Robin 🤣 x

we’ve had one Bob in and out of our garden. It may be the same one I saw as the heritage site is over my back wall x
