Waking up early

I’ve been retired over 25 years, but I still wake up at time I did when had to travel to my office every morning. It’s bit frustrating, but does give me plenty of time for all domestics and Nebulising Spirometer etc. There’s plenty to do when living alone! x

Hi Jean, that sounds perfectly healthy to me! I think my time clock is missing the hour hand!

Thanks, yes note that your response was four hours ago? Middle of night!! There are some nights when I wake in “small hours” wonder why and if don’t get back to sleep do something on iPad or even get up. When I worked had telex messages come in overnight, had to be dealt with. I did admin. Jean x

It’s only 8 years since I my health was more important than my job, and stopped working. I was hoping waking up at 6.30 every morning would change once I finished work!

Yes strange how we are “stuck in rut” . Hope you can enjoy sleeping past 6.30 very soon. Good luck best wishes. Jean

I think we just have to do things when we are able to do them. I'm often awake in the night, but that is not a good time for vacuuming or making telephone calls.🥱😴🙃🤪xxx

😂 if I wake in the night I make tea and toast and enjoy my book for an hour- that’s as active as I’m prepared to be before 8 am x

yes I wake sometimes in small hours, usually awake by 5.45 time use to get up for work. Difference now is that if I’m very short of sleep, I catch up when Nebulising! Best regards, Jean

Its not such a bad thing. I was always up early when working 6-6.30 and continued for the first couple of years, i usually wake around 7.30 until I went on these pain killers, its now 8.30 but feel groggy. Prefer to be clear headed and wake at 7.30 x

Over the past 50 years, sons with paper rounds and then jobs, my own job until retirement and a succession of dogs, meant that I always woke before six. Now I sometimes don't surface until after eight unless I have to be somewhere. It takes me so long organising just me that I have to set the alarm if I have an early appointment.

I would love to know why sleep can't get it's act together! When I needed more hours a day as a working mom and wife with a house to manage, lots of friends and hobbies I could sleep for England, but now, when I have time to sleep I can't!

Yes it’s annoying when can’t sleep, I sometimes have this problem. One benefit of waking early is that if my rescue cat Morrison is in I can let him out. He usually comes up to my bedroom as soon as I stir, if needs to go out heads back downstairs, if not he comes to bathroom with me. He has litter tray but doesn’t like it. x
