I'm not sure whit but as you continue to recover they may improve. Glad you are home again.

I had a flare up treated at home last week. My oxygen levels are much better now than they were then. If they don't pick up do let your doctor know.

Take it easy and get plenty of rest.

We are different and may be given different advice. My parameters are 89 to 92%. I am often 90 or less but wouldn't go to hospital.

yes we are all different, my normal oxygen is 90-91 so when it drops to 88 I don’t panic

I have found O2 sats do change quite a bit - As you improve they could well respond. If not tell GP your concerns.

my opinion, for what it’s worth, is that if you were 95 before admission, 87-90 is a bit low, so my advice would be to take a measurement when moving about & contact your GP to discuss… I’m usually about 95 at rest too, and have been told not to let sats go below 92, but we’re all different as CDPO16 says.

My Sats are 88-90 and have been for the past year.. I was told not to worry too much about it as it didn't always give a true indication of the oxygen in my blood. I get breathless on exertion but with my lung disease progressing (IPF) I am having to accept this. Have a chat with your medical team, as said previously, we are all different.

Glad you are home. I see that opinions differ about the significance of your sats readings. I hope they start to improve now, but contact your doctor or respiratory people if they don't. Have a good Christmas.

My Respiratory team says that with COPD sats between 88-92 are normal for some. .Wishing you a merry xmas and a happy and healthy 2023.xx Sheila 🎅🎅💕⚘

In the past I was resigned to SATS of 90 - 92 but after being treated with a different antibiotic, they improved dramatically and these days I aim for 95 upwards ie in normal range.

So, yes, they CAN improve, but this won't happen immediately and for you, it may be that the recent episode has caused some damage and will need time to repair and recover, so don't be too anxious at this stage. However, don't be complacent either and if you continue to have the low sats and are still feeling unwell seek medical advice sooner rather than later.

It took me months to recover from pneumonia - but eventually I did and am now better than I have been for years, so don't give up hope. Take each day at a time - baby steps, as they say - and find something you enjoy at least once a day, even if it's just a favourite food or TV programme. Have something small to look forward to and don't worry about the daily chores unless you have to.

If you have family or friends who can help you, accept it. Save your energy for doing the things that make you happiest. OK, if you like cleaning, you don't need to stop, but just do one bit a day, not the whole house! Better still, if you can run to it, employ a cleaner. I have a lovely person who comes once a fortnight and it's enough. She whizzes through more in than hour than I can in two weeks. She's a godsend and worth every penny I pay her and more (but she refuses an increase!)

Be kind to yourself. Rest when you're tired then potter when you can.

With time you may find yourself doing a bit more each day.

If you have the opportunity, see if you can be referred to the community respiratory team where you are as they provide wonderful support backup 365 days a year. When you are feeling up to it, pulmonary rehab might also help you as they give you a lot of insight into your lung condition and how best to manage it.

Maybe order in some Wiltshire Farm Food meals or similar that you don't need to mess about with. We always keep some in the freezer as if one of us is eating, they go in the microwave or if two of us, I put them in the oven so they're both ready to eat at the same time. You don't have to do anything to them at all. If you ask, they'll even come in and put them away in the freezer for you so no need to carry a box either if that's too much at the moment.

If you've been in hospital for 8 days, you've obviously been very unwell.

Now you need to look forward to getting well again and before you know it, spring will be here and you will be feeling heaps better than you do now.

Hope you're able to enjoy Christmas, but take it easy and let someone else do the work.

I recommend a nice glass of Baileys (pills permitting) and a posh box of chocolates! And, of course we'll have the King's speech to listen to this year. Xx

That all sounds very nice and a good way to spend Christmas day etc. Ready meals in the freezer and an alcoholic treat or two are definitely the way to go! 😀

I've just read your profile. Sorry, I should have done that before I replied to you. I can see you've been dealing with a number of conditions for a long time so you'll already be familiar with much of what I said. I didn't mean to come across as patronising and hope I didn't. Every word I wrote was meant sincerely in the hope of being helpful.

I hope you make the best recovery you can and soon feel a lot better than you do now. If anything I have said is of help to you, I will be glad. Just ditch the bits that you already know.

Xx Moy
