I feel tired a lot of the time, and even go to sleep quite often in the day time. Just have to live with it and hope it will go away soon. I was diagnosed with bronchiectasis in 2019, but my condition has got worse lately. I can only suggest you go back to your doctor. If you are not already under a consultant ask to be referred to one.
I am sorry to read you are getting worse waiting for results of xray and ecg and blood at the mo if that throws up nothing I will ask to be referred take care xx
Whenever I have had tests I have been told that if I don't hear from them the results are OK. If I were you I would ask for the results, be they good or not so good. I had an echocardiogram, heard nothing and ended up in hospital because of a problem. When I asked the surgery afterwards what the result had been they simply said 'just what they found in hospital'. I was given the correct treatment then though. Good luck.
Will not let this go I can assure you There is deffo something wrong some days I used to walk for 5 hrs with my boarding dog now I have a problem walking for an hour I need hehelp
Are you having any follow up monitoring from having had Covid? Did you have any symptoms before you got Covid? Could this be the long term effects? Do you feel that you are getting the help you need? Sorry, a bit of an interrogation.
Look after yourself and tell us how things develop.
The only thing I had before covid was catarrh in my throat occasionally which I couldnt get rid of No follow up after covid I was under the wings of a hospital after covid but was signed off doctor has fleetingly mentioned long covid but that was a year ago I had it unless I have had it again and didnt get any positive results Thankyou for caring will keep you updated when results come in xx
Hi Ergendl, just to let you know I had my results yesterday and according to the doc nothing showed up on any of my tests He just said I think you have caught a nasty virus π€·π½ββοΈ I did say to him that I have been told that I need a reliever inhaler which he agreed I do he has given me salbutamol which I have used a few times already he said if I no better in a week get back to them so fingers crossed π€I am keeping a diary I have no dogs now until next Thursday so going to try and rest a bit Thankyou for your concern This group is amazing Thankyou so much for you help all Take care x
It's good news in a way that nothing serious has showed up in the tests, but frustrating all the same. Glad your GP has given you a salbutamol inhaler. I find it very helpful to take 2 puffs (30 seconds apart) before I do something that would make me breathless. Hoping you soon recover from the virus infection.
Hi, I wonder if it's the after effects of covid. The steroid inhaler will take about a month to have it's full effect but you may gradually feel some benefit before that. If you use it with a spacer (available on prescription) it will get deeper into your lungs. Wishing you well.
I really have no idea I have had 2 fine days this week and now back to square one I do have a spacer fingers crossed the effect of the inhaler improves thankyou for caring π€
Hello & welcome to the forum.have u also go a blue salbutamol/ ventolin inhaler?if yr chest feels tight and/ or wheezy,u may need one to relax and open airways.i would keep a daily diary of symptoms, see what's helping+ its a picture for drs.note whn its better or worse + why,if u can.Do read up on controlled breathing technique to practise whn ok+ use whn struggling, walking etc.
Could u have an allergy to one or more of dogs? May be worth taking otc antihistamine eg loratidine or cetrizine as non drowsy and effective,,perhaps for a month initially + note any change. I'd also do what u have to,but slow down, concentrate on controlled breathing + hopefully it will get easier 4u. If u smoke,do stop, drink plenty of fluids and id boost immunity with supplements. Do protect yrself frm winter bugs,u have enough to cope with xxx
Thankyou so much for your input the only inhaler I have is clenil modulmodulite 100 which I have 2 doses twice a day
my chest doesnt feel tight but my breathing is very restricted
I will look up controlled breathing a diary is a very good idea I will start one today I have thought about dog allergy but I havent got dogs all of the time I dont smoke thankyou so much living alone and being like this is not good I was so fit and active π so its it's hard for me at the mo once again Thankyou
Hi there. The Clenil modulate (brown one I think) is a preventer inhaler but it sounds like you have no reliever inhaler. I have been given a reliever inhaler for when I get very wheezy. My health sounds like your except I don;t think I ever had Covid. I just get given antibiotics and steroids every 6 weeks or so when my body can't take the strain any more. I can barely walk quarter of a mile now. 3 years ago I was a long distance walker and a a powr lifter. Mine started with catarrh in the throat that I couldn't get rid of. My mother has the same. I would ask your doctor for a relive inhaler - a blue one called Salamol or what used to be called ventalin. This is so you have it if you feel an asthmery type attack/wheezing out of control/breathlessness coming on. I wish I could help you but my GP hasn't seen me in 3 years - it's all over the phone and I am going crazy with it as I can't do my work which is physical. Good luck
Agree that a reliever inhaler sounds like a good idea. I had clenil modulate when I first had asthma, but then it stopped helping and went onto a different mixed preventer and relive in haler (Fostair), but still have ventolin reliever inhaler to take when needed. The asthma website has good information about what is called a 'step up - step down' approach to managing asthma. they have lots of information and a support telephone line - asthma.org.uk/advice/manage...
I have heard that it is possible to have Long Covid even if you have had a mild infection. There is a patient booklet about it, including how GPs should support patients - sign.ac.uk/media/1894/long-...
Strongmouse I really dont think that this inhaler is doing a great lot I have had covid twice very very badly my friend reckons I have had it again when all of this started I am retiring next year and had such a lot planned if things dont improve I wont be doing any of them π take care
Along with keeping a diary of how you are day to day if you have been diagnosed with asthma then it is important to keep a peak flow diary. I expect your doctor asked you to breathe into one - with a deep breath in and then as fast and long as you can out - which measures your breath volume out (often the best of three gos). Your GP surgery can provide you with one or you can buy one cheaply on-line. You can then keep track of this yourself daily. Asthma UK website explain this. There is a range of 'normal' depending on sex, and age and what is you normal with medication. It can help to show a docor if you need stronger asthma medication or a referral to Respiratory Department for further checks. There is a printable chart you can fill in. The peak flow normally comes with a graph showing the range of normal for you. I found it really helpful in my early days of learning to manage asthma. It is so hard when we develop long term health problems. I'd go back to the doctor for a further discussion of how to manage your ongoing health problems.
No the doc didnt ask me to breath into anything he said that my heart was racing and wanted me to have an ecg and prescribed me the inhaler had chest xray ecg blood tests and not heard a thing from my doc my walk today was awful because of not being able to breath on the phone tomorrow for sure I need answers Thankyou so much for your help Take care π€
Bless you I am so sorry that you are suffering and your life has changed so much its dreadful isnt it
going by what you have said about inhalers yes i do need a reliever inhaler i think it is disgusting that your gp hasnt seen you in all this time today is not a good day for me take care wont you big hug π€
Hi, I have allergies and just to let you know it is possible to react - allergy wise- even if the dog isn't in a room, as the dander, which causes the allergy, can remain on the carpet, soft furnishings etc. and move into the air when you sit on a sofa, or walk on a carpet and cling to clothes. It is possible to be tested for allergies (usually by skin prick test). It is worth ruling it out, plus dustmites or moulds, which are quite common.
Are there any times when you feel better or worse? Keeping a diary is a good idea. There are treatments which can help minimise effect of allergies. Do hope you get some answers and support treatment wise soon
Have wondered about the dogs on Wednesday I went out with a friend and I felt absolutely fine and on Thursday when out with another friend my breathing worsens when I eat but when eating out on those 2 days it didnt happen yes I have started a diary my breathing does get worse if I go for a little walk and go up a slight incline sadly the countryside in the cotswolds is very hilly oh to walk where I used too π I am a country girl who loves walking in the fresh air but now I cant π Thankyou for your help take care
