You need to be seeing a consultant as your GP obviously hasn’t got a grip on this. There are several antibiotics other than penicillin which tackle haemophylus influenzae and you GP should be giving you one if you are obviously still so unwell. Get in there, get the abs and INSIST on a referral.
I’m afraid that we have to be our own advocates and vociferous in obtaining the treatment that we need.
Hi I’ve got H Influenzae B had it for 3 yrs coughed every day, saw Lung Specialist Doxycycline I’m given when infections there. The Sputum test should indicate which Antibiotics is suitable. Hope you get sorted.
Hi everyone..i take Doxy 50 mg everyday prescribed by my specialist and when i have a chesty cough he gives me Augmentom Duo Fort and Rulide to take together and i get better really quick... maybe this will be helpfull to you......
I have problems and allergic to some of the antibiotics .. This is what I have been doing for thirty years it helps.... 1/8 tsp of turmeric , honey, slice of ginger, hot water... I drink about eight cups a day when I'm having a flare up.. .. Don't drink anything cold drink it thickens the mucus in our throat ..... I also make chicken soup and add four large onions five cloves of garlic I use barley put every thing in veg bones remove skin after everything is cooked ..... What happens is your nose will run and the mucus thins and you'll sweat ... My dad had a sinus infection he came by to drop things off to me .. . I also make a mustard paste put the paste between two face cloths on put on your chest and take a shot of rum..... I tarted looking into what other countries do for chest infection because I can't take some antibiotics .. I did this with my family -minus the rum ... I started looking into how they take care of themselves in other countries.. Most use spices like hot peppers deals infections.. Onion seeds with honey every morning ... Honey with cinnamon .. Honey is what they put on inflammation on cuts..... Hope your feeling better soon....
I seen some mistakes in the message couldn't fix the sentence... Try some of these things look into what other countries do .. Spices and herbs like the old days before antibiotics ...
Theres a lot of good sense in doing some of this, these things can work, may take a little longer but gentler and kinder...boost your immune system too which anti-biotics can also deplete.
Try this turmeric 1/8 ... slice of ginger. honey..Pour it into a large mug of hot water let it sit for five min... Yesterday my mucus I cough and a hard piece came out... I started doing this I drank two cups wright right away.. Then the rest of the day four more.. I leave the ginger in and just keep adding turmeric and hone... This works.. Eat some food that you can add cinnimon to and gloves.. ... Medication gives you acid reflux for me and the gases will end up in your lungs it keeps the cycle going ... Are you having acid reflux from any medication...
Hi, I have had a New Cough( 3 weeks) sounds like Whooping cough, I went to my GP yesterday. Most GP's don't know a lot about COPD or other Lung Conditions, I explained about my Valves and he was all ears, having no clue about this Procedure....Fast Forward. I have a CT Scan next week to make sure my Valves are in Position as they were placed, This may be the Cause of my "New Cough" ? Will Know in September at 1) Transplant Hospital, 2) My local Lung Hospital. I am Happy that I could enlighten my Lovely GP a little bit about Lung Problems. Happy Saturday to you, and Everyone. xxx
Oh dear 😞 I hope your appointments next month will show the cause of your cough so it can be sorted out. Take care of yourself in the meantime. Wishing you a happy Saturday too 💐
I had a cough for a year. Finally someone suggested a CT scan of my lungs. Luckily I don't have lung cancer. The scan was worth it to ease my mind. Now I'm on inhalers, nasal sprays and Allegra. I barely cough now. It's been suggested that I get a scan to look at my nasal passages. I'll do this in the future.
Get a CT scan. It could save your life, and at least ease your mind. If you'd like more information, go to lungcancerfoundation.org
Wow I feel for you I myself hate when that happens. The last time a licensed genius told me they didn’t know, or started guessing as to what ailed me I said” just google it”.
I've had amoxycillin which didn't touch my chest infection - I then had doxycycline which did - not dure if this is penicillin based, sorry if it is. Can you try this? Steroids, prednisalone, otherwise may help?
