Thank you for all the replied to my post. They were very helpful and supportive. It is good to know I am not alone.
Anyway back to the update. I was incredibly nervous waiting to go into the consultants room. When I walked in I recognised the consultant as one I had seen on the ward on one of my many admittances. She had been nice while I was on the ward so I was more hopeful. She asked loads of questions which seemed relevant and seemed to show understanding of my problems.
To cut a long story short. The appointment was successful I was so relieved I cried. I am having the scan and they are looking at everything connected to my breathing. I also am having a test where I have to walk for 5 mins. Probably impossible but to get a diagnosis I will give it a damn good try, even if it makes me ill for a few days.
At last someone has listened to me and hopefully I am on the road to a diagnosis.

I’m sorry but I seem to have missed your earlier posts. What a horrible time you gave had. I soooo sympathise with you. I am sure things will begin to fall into place now you have a good consultant. I so understand your weeping with relief. I have been there a few times. And the worst experience is when doctors give a beaming reassuring noise along the lines of: “Well, you will be pleased to know there is nothing wrong with your lungs.” And we know differently. I hope things continue and let us know.
Even worse, a doctor said to me after treating me in a cottage hospital like a hypochondriac for 10 days, "Good news - the x-ray shows you have two compressed lumbar discs". Then he told me to sit during the day - but I wasn't able to sit for 3 months because the spasms were so bad. I ended up discharging myself and seeing an osteopath, who improved things relatively quickly.
Yes I did walk think positive try and take someone with you for support walk at your own pace don't rush otherwise you will struggle take a few puffs on your inhaler to help you. Good luck let us know how it goes. They want me to do more exercise for valves op next year but I suffer terribly with anxiety and being in a room with other people scares to help and back. So hubby said we will buy a treadmill and do a bit each day build it up. And hopefullyit will help. I do a lot of walking around in the house , I'm determined to be able to walk into consultants surgery next year. I hate feeling useless. So fingers crossed I can do the walking on a treadmill. And then be put forward for the op let us know how you get on
Hi Hun, Please don't stress out as you have now found a Good Consultant who Listens and explains. Now, the Tests to Diagnose, it all takes time. I have just done my 6 Minute walk at my Transplant Hospital, it's not Difficult , in fact I have improved over the last 2 years, every 4 months check up and I am pleased with the results of Exercise, Meds, Consultants, generally the NHS have been magnificent. Do as they ask. Hope Your Lady is as Good as My Amy, whom I have every Confidence in.. Good Luck Hun, Be Strong, Be Calm, and above all be Positive. XXXX
I’m so pleased that you now have a consultant who is listening and investigating. Do remember that the walk test is not a test of your grit and determination but a test to discover what help you need. Take it steady and if it is becoming too much tell them. Good luck, I hope everything improves for you soon.xx
