great!!! Can I ask do you use iPhone or watch for steps or is it your phone? I ask because I bought iPhone watch two years ago so it monitors every step - not just when I’ve got the phone on me? Small steps little and often build up to more steps - hard I know!!!

morning kate , its an app already built into my android phone ,as you say it doesnt measure when ive not got the phone on me but for now it'll do .

pepparuby1 profile image
pepparuby1 in reply tosoulboy118

ah so … you’re actually doing more as you’d be surprised how many steps we take without our phone

pepparuby1 in reply toB0xermad

brilliant so it can be done!!! On the odd occasion I’ve walked 8k to 12k steps that was a day out at Hampton court and on holiday in Egypt you had to walk the whole complex numerous times a day to get to activities pool restaurant etc

B0xermad profile image

A journey of a thousand miles starts with just one step. You've already passed that by more than another thousand steps, so well done. Keep doing just a little bit more each day, and you'll get there.

And it's OK to have a day off when you need to.

that’s good. It’s an achievement, the more we do it the better it gets, but take care.

Before the progression of my illness and when I had my little dog, walking and doing the recommended steps were not a problem but I did notice that, having short legs and a short stride, my distance covered was less than a taller, long striding person.

a dog would get you walking and they are great company to 💜

🙂Following my illness I used to walk to the top of the drive every day , just a few steps, then to next door, then further up. It took longer to dress for the out doors than I was actually out. 😂 Now, admittedly after a long time trying and crying and having set backs, I enjoy yoga and pilates and managed to mooch a little in the new forest.

soulboy118 profile image
soulboy118 in reply toKarenanne61

so jealous , i used to love walking in forests there was something so ancient aboutcthen mystical almost

Karenanne61 profile image
Karenanne61 in reply tosoulboy118

There certainly is. 🌳We found a lovely picnic spot then I sat drinking in the forest, and a cup of tea , whilst my husband explored further. I've had to accept my limitations but we have to be determined not to give in. Just try a few steps or stretches every day and we'll cheer you on.
