Sorry to hear this and hope you recover quickly. These days it is more a rarity to not have had Covid, so no need to be shocked. I am one of those rarities and not had Covid but do feel is only a matter of time.I have no doubt you will be well looked after and hope you get discharged quickly and are only mildly affected.

Also hope you are able to rearranging specialist appointment quickly, but for now concentrate on getting better.

Hi,Sara,I think it’s you I’ve been trying to post on the ILD forum,it keeps telling me I’m blocked ?It’s bad news you having Covid.hopefully they’ll be able to give you the anti virals etc.as well as finding out why your oxygen levels keep dropping.

In my experience ILD is very tricky.

Sometimes I feel really breathless, but O2 levels are normal for me.other times oxygen levels go down to the mid eighties, but I feel ok.so I still don’t understand it all.

I hope you are ok and get a bit better soon x

Either I ll survive or I ll die frankly I think I ll die Omicrom will eat away at my lungs which are already scarred have virtually no immune system

mylungshateme in reply toSara_2611

Oh no hopefully that isn't the result and you walk away from it. I'm so sorry the virus caught you. Take care.

Sara_2611 profile image
Sara_2611 in reply tomylungshateme

I can't believe it. I got it while I was in another ward

The last few times I'd been in I managed not to get it so consider myself lucky

Now I REALLY want to SNAP OFF THE HORNS of covid

IT should be covid that dies not innocent people

I'm having a course of anti viral tonight from 6pm (3/8)

Thankfully theres no clashes with my other tablets

ALL except the Amlodipine - that has been cut down to 5mg instead of 10mg

Oshgosh profile image
Oshgosh in reply toSara_2611

I sympathise with you. When Covid first appeared,I was convinced I would catch it and die.

Had the vaccines etc, which is supposed to reduce severity if you catch it.

How are you feeling today ? Xx

Sara_2611 profile image
Sara_2611 in reply toOshgosh

Well I feel hot tired coughing (to be fair I'm always coughing) I've had 5 vaccines

I couldn't be fully vaccinated and I got it at Easter. I hadanahed two jabs but am ECV with a pathetic immune system. I was told that Omicron doesn't attack the lungs in the way that delta does. I had a 10 day stop in hospital, IVabx, I lost the ability to stand or have muscle control because it exacerbated a pre-existing condition. I won't lie the headache and sore throat were horrendous but my point is that I'm alive and at home. I was told that I would likely snuff it if I caught it but they are now getting very good at treating covid and they can predict it's behaviour in ways that they couldn't do earlier.

Best of luck.

Hi SaraI have quite bad COPD and RA and was terrified of covid. for me when I got it it was not too bad. Fortunately I have learned that Omicron does not attack lungs in same way as esrlier covids. You are in the best place for care. Let them look after you. All the best.

Wishing you a speedy recovery Sara.We are in a better place knowledge wise on how to treat COVID than we were 2 years ago.

I had COVID at Easter and was in hospital with it.

You are in the best place where treatment can be delivered quickly should you need it.

It has taken since Easter for me to get better and the recovery can take time.

Am sending you gentle hugs and keeping you in my thoughts and heart.

Let us know how you get on.x

I had Covid 3 weeks ago with very mild symptoms. Having had 4 vaccinations 2 AstraZeneca 1Pfizer and 1Moderna they seemed to have helped.

Just had slight headache and mild sore throat for 2 days which Paracetamol sorted .

The cases are not as severe as beginning of Pandemic now as most vaccinated.

All of the people I know have had Covid now and I treat it as any other virus thesedays.

Hope you feel better soon , and your symptoms will be as mild as mine xxSheila 🙏💕⚘

Sorry to hear this Sara. It seems to be that once you start having problems with your oxygen levels it's a recurring problem. My aunt has been in 3 times this year and only been back out 5 days and struggling again. Hope your covid is not too severe. Brian

So sorry to hear this Sara. I just avoided being hospitalised on Monday, had some oxygen had my local surgery. My GP has suggested having my own oxygen at home as he suspects my oxygen level is always low. I need to discuss with my consultant but hope it will be possible. Is this something you could do? My levels are in the 80’s so GP thinks home oxygen would transform my life.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Sending healing vibes your way. You are in the best place to be taken care of. I had it in July and it took about 2 weeks before I felt close to 100% better. Still get nagged by a cough.

HiSarah. I am very happy that your oxygen levels are being investigated. All in all, apart from the COVID which is also being dealt with so well, it sounds like a positive outcome on the way from your hospital stay. I hope that continues with your specialist appointment and we’ll done you for being such a good self advocate. Ways forward with ILD can be so challlenging can’t they?

My very best wishes for your recovery.
