Does anyone else seem to get UTIs/Kidney infections not long after being on antibiotics (Doxy) for a bronchiectasis flare?? Thank you in advance 😊

I used to but they changed me to amoxicillin and I no longer get them. Have a good night and take care 😊 Bernadette and Jack 🐕 xxxxxx 🌻🌻

Oooo so I could be to do with antibiotics (in this case Doxy) rather than the actual infection then? I could never work out the reason behind it! Thank you very much! 🙏🏼Xxx

Hi, I have never had a problem like this after doxy. Your pharmacist might be able to shed some light on it if you give him/her a ring. I'd certainly mention it to your doctor as an alternative antibiotic may be better for you in future.

Thank you very much, I could never work out if I kept getting uti/kidney infections after a flare due to the actual infection or due to the antibiotics. 😊🙏🏼

Hi candiR, always especially with doxycycline and sometimes amoxicillin

So it’s the antibiotics then not the actual infection! Thank you! Could never work it out, I always take a probiotic now too 👍😊

Thrush is a common side effect as all the good bacteria is knocked out as well as the bad. Not nice. X

Thank you, glad I asked because it’s quite clear now it’s the antibiotics, in my case Doxy. What’s ironic is that I end up on more antibiotics because I would appear i get a kidney infection 🙄

That is why you must take a probiotic a few hours after the antibiotic.
