As I understand it if you have a positive PCR test and are eligible for anti virals the NHS will contact you. This is probably why 111 have forwarded your details.
Thank you Went to covid ward for assessment was astonished that the staff didn't have PPE just a face mask
As a retired srn was saddened to hear of the trauma some of the staff are still facing after working on itu during the pandemic.
The care I received was professional, kind and compassionate.
Another fellow retired SRN, there are a few of us on the forum.
I'm surprised that you went to a covid ward for assessment and even more surprised that the staff were only wearing masks. That said, I was admitted to hospital with a flare up July 2020 and admitted to a covid ward even though I tested negative. Horrified to say the least but I was also concerned about the lack of PPE wearing by some staff. It seemed very hit and miss. I too feel for them however as they are still caring for covid patients after so long. They must be exhausted.
I hope you get to know about the anti virals soon. Best wishes, Carole x
Many thanks ,think because had tested positive they kept me segregated from main a and e.Bit saddened as will miss daughters graduation ceremony but she is pregnant and wouldn't want her or anyone else to get it.
Stay well and covid free Carole x
It's supposed to be gd at shortening and lessening impact of covid
Hi there sorry to hear you’ve tested positive. I had the anti virals back in December when I had a positive PCR. Hospital contacted me as I’d come up on the system as CEV and on prednisolone. Five days of rather large tablets 3 times a day. It was all fine apart from my anxiety! Wishing you well.
Thank you so much for that.Seems a little chaotic and with the huge increase in numbers infected the trial is oversubscribed
Someone rang yesterday and someone else will ring today.
So pleased you were treated and made a good recovery-cant fault our local hospital as they have been amazing. Was concerned as also on prednisolone and cev so your reassurance is so so helpful bless you.
I am immunosupressed and have severe asthma and bronchiecstasis. I tested positive on Friday25th March. I was contacted on the Sunday and went for an antiviral infusion on the Monday, day 4. By that point my breathing was pretty bad, much worse than usual. The infusion stops the Covid in its tracks so I didn’t get any worse. I felt fine by day 9and actually tested negative today, day 11.
