Anti anxiety meds

My doc just took me off of mine lorasapham I guess it can cause problems down the road.anyone taking anything that isn't dangerous?

Hi lorazepam can be addictive so reduce slowly to avoid side effects. All medications carry a risk so it would what you mean by dangerous. Even some of the herbal remedies carry risk. With any treatment you have too try and work out risks against the benefits.

I was only taking maybe one to three a week for the last two months but was told it could cause dimentia

Addiction to them can cause problems. Always best use other methods. As your GP suggested CBT cognitive behavioural therapy to you. Does help with Anxiety.

omg get a 2nd opinion--that is so little--I dont believe it will do a thing but help you relax-most of these addiction stories are people taking way over prescribed amount for long periods--good luck MmeT I have been on anti anxiety meds for 35 years--im 68==if I have dementia--my dr certainly would have told me-she prescribes 3 a day--I take 1--half in am and half in pm MmeT

diazepam ie valium--35 years now--and never have felt the need to take more to get same effect--work well for me--I belive Xanax is the modern alium--1 5 equal to 2 10 mg valiums I think--my daughter on them and shelooked it up once what would I do witout them I don't want to know--I get very anxious at times MmeT I don't worryabout it--if I needem I takem right> xxxxx excuse my scribble--keyboard shot--everything at once--car,tv,you name it
