Hi all it's been a while as I have been not too bad with my lungs more so managing my fibromyalgia.
Yesterday I recieved the news that I was positive for covid . I had been awful since Thursday but honestly I thought it was a flare up of my lungs . The drowning feeling and unable to sleep . Pains in my sides and tons of mucus. All the classic bronchectasis flare which then aggrevated my asthma my Dr was great we started meds but I was not responding like I would usually. Then came the extremely heavy weight in my chest upper respiratory. Like someone was sitting on it so debilitating.
We are avoiding hospitals as much as possible. So they delivered oxygen for me and now on high dose of steriods/nebuliser /pain meds and inhalers.
Just wanted to know if anyone else felt like this.
Supposedly they say its omicron but for us who suffer with lung disease omicron/delta etc there all awful
Feeling so tired and rubbish

I'm sorry you feel so rotten. I'm recovering from the nasty covid too. I seemed to have new, odd symptoms every day, one day I had very painful wrists and ankles, no other joints though! The coughing was, and is, the worse. I always have a cough but this was awful. I tried to sleep propped up but couldn't. The good news is that it does end and will for you too. Thank goodness for the jabs.
Same with me, I too caught Covid! Had a very sore throat, runny nose, backache, fatigued and cough! Still coughing on and off! Crazy it is and I am fully vaccinated! They say Covid can take 12 weeks to fully recover!
Wow 12 weeks !!Well it's handy having oxygen at home as as soon as I walk around my level goes down and I feel like someone is sitting on my chest. The runny nose has gone but the head ache is constant. Hope your feeling better x x
As I understand it, Omicron is currently the dominant variant of Covid, but others are still around. Whichever you have, I do hope you feel much better soon.
So do I it's easy to know which one as at the moment in Cyprus we have both floating around. The only saving grace is the support of my general Dr and pulmonologist. They have been great with meds and over the phone support.
Hi, I'm so sorry Carkaisabelleacolin, it sounds absolutely awful. It's great that you're being well looked after in sunny Cyprus. I think over here they're often treating covid patients with antivirals as well. Good luck & get well soon. P ΓΓ
Thank you. Cyprus is not as sunny as they think lately. Its been freezing π₯Ά and very windy . We have even had 3 earthquakes. Strange times everywhere at the moment.
Yes the steriods are being used now for covid patients and they are affective I have read .
I really hope you feel better soon. For us with lung disease any virus is such a threat. Please just take it easy and I wish you a speedy recovery. Take care. xx π
Oh my goodness darling! That's awful for you! I tested positive a month ago and still have a cough! Was fully vaccinated and was shocked when I tested positive!π±But with your health conditions I really pray you can avoid hospital! Please get better soon darling πβ€οΈ
I really am so sorry to hear this. Please continue to look after yourself. Rest, rest and more rest. Hope that Cypriot sunshine will soon be on its way to help. xx
Hope you feel better soon. As you sayβ¦it doesnβt matter what variant you are unlucky enough to get, it can still make you incredibly poorly if you have respiratory problems
Good to hear you have good doctors looking after you, it makes a difference and good that you have been vaccinated it will help with the severity of the virus. Plenty of rest and good food will help, get better soon x
Sorry you're feeling so bad. i hope you will soon start to get better. The wretched covid bug seems to affect us all in different ways, but you are certainly having a bad time with it. i got off relatively lightly, but I still feel tired a lot of the time. Take it easy as you recover. Have you got someone to pamper you?
Well the family have been good. I am isolating in a room but have been fed well and lots of supportive messages from my girls . As a teacher I have been sent lots of messages which helps to lift the spirits when feeling so rubbish. So many of my friends and students have had it and managed to pass it relatively easy. But everyone is different.
Thank you π it's really a strange one.You think it's not too bad then suddenly your chest feels like its being crushed and the headaches are uncomfortable.
