Sorry to hear this, nausea is horrible. Ventolin has never made me feel nauseous and I’ve had the nebules which are much stronger than the inhaler. But it doesn’t agree with everyone so why not ask your gp for a different bronchodilator?

Thank you hanne ,it may not be the ventolin I am going to try being without it today

Hiya, I am sorry that you have been so poorly. I believe that is a side effect of ventolin, I agree with the comment below, speak to your GP that you feel nausea when taking ventolin, that you get a different inhaler that suits you better. I hope that you can get this sorted, you take care and get in touch with your GP 🌺🌺🌺

I was just wandering what other medications you were are on? Nausea is a common side affect of many. Ventolin can cause problems but I wonder why it is causing problems now? How you been using it more over the last few months? I have a number of pain syndromes and the pain at times can make me feel nauseous. With your very painful ribs and chest I just wonder if that could be part of the problem.

It could be agrevating things ,the other med it could possibly be is the azithromycin I take three times a week

Do you take uniphyllin by any chance as this drug gave me so much nausea xHope your feeling better x

Alice70 in reply topaula66

No I've never taken that medication

Hello Alice. Nausea can be a side effect of azithromycin. Make sure that you take it with food. If the nausea persists and you can't put up with it, talk to your consultant about nebulised antibiotic instead.

I am beginning to wonder if it is the azithromycin now ,I'm going to watch, I only take it three times a week

in reply toAlice70

3 x a week is usual. I took it for 5 years and if I did not take it with food I would feel sick.

Hi Alice. Have you been coughing lots? I always do when my chest gets infected and hurts so much. I feel sick and get water pouring out of my mouth from my stomach. I use omeprazole but also just a normal anti inflammatory and that does help me to.

Hello, sorry you haven’t been too good. We’re all different but i found azithromycin made me nauseous. Have a word with your gp. It’s not nice to feel nauseous all the time and we shouldn’t have to.

Take care. 🙂

Hello Alice, Ventolin can cause stomach problems like nausea, idigestion ect . Are you taking any painkillers ? as they can cause feelings of nausea too and just thought you might be using some as you have muscle pain in your ribs. Not easy to work out the culprit but as the stomach test was clear , then time to try and elliminate other possible causes before seeing a Gp again. Its aweful when you feel unwell but they can't find a cause. I really do hope you can get to the bottom of it soon but these things take so long on occassions I've just waited four month for advice from a consultant now I have to have a barage of tests as he found something else wrong. Hey Ho here we go again I usually say, as you get older you don't need all this I spent 7 hrs at hospital for nothing my Gp can do the tests that are needed via the surgery. Have a nice day, stay safe and get well soon. xx

I found you post interesting because I suffered off and on for years with feeling nauseous and bouts of vomiting. Had lots of tests including cameras down throat, with no real answers. I then mentioned problems to a new gp who straight away said he knew what problem was!! I am diabetic and he says commonly diabetics develop a lazy bowel so food gets stuck in stomach!! I now am on tablets 3X a day and rarely have issues. I REALLY feel for you because regular nausea and sickness is horrible and (in my case) it was such a relief to finally find a doctor who diagnosed problem straight away.Hope you get some answers quickly.

Alice70 in reply toBevvy

Thank you Bevvy I am not diabetic, I just think I make a lot of acid bloating ,when I take medication for that I can still feel sick ,what meds do you take for it

Bevvy profile image
Bevvy in reply toAlice70

If you feel the reason is due to stomach acid then my meds (apart from omeprazole for reflux) won’t help you.

Interested in your post because I've had the same thing, it's like morning sickness when pregnant ( I'm post menopause) I've had it on and off for a year now, always 1st thing in the morning as I take my meds so now I eat a ginger biscuit and have a cup of tea as soon as I wake and this helps. GP practice have referred me for various tests but still none the wiser as to why this happens! Could it be phlegm building up in our throats during sleep? I find Ventolin essential for clearing my airways, not sure if it is the reason for my morning sickness ( I've been on Ventolin prior to the sickness bouts) but I retain an open mind!

Alice70 profile image
Alice70 in reply toKaraKim

Often first thing in morning although had it after my tea tonight ,I'll have to get to the bottom of it as it is horrible
