BRONCHIESTASIS SUFFERER

Hi, I am wondering if anyone can advise me on whether to start my rescue pack of antibiotics.

I have thankfully been symptom free since May, after being ill with infections since last October.

However since yesterday I feel dreadful, no energy or appetite but no coughing so far but my stats are ranging between 70 and 91, all I want to do is sleep. Wondering whether an exacerbation is imminent.. any advice would be welcomed 🤗

Have you thought about ringing 111 for advice ? You need to make sure you drink loads of fluids. Have you got a temperature ?

Hi Oshkgosh, thanks for replying, I am drinking plenty fluids but don’t feel like any food, I haven’t got a temperature and not coughing as yet, will see how I go but may ring 111.🤗

You will need a Covid test if nothing else. However I am concerned about your low sats. I really think you should call 111. They are far too low. I know you are thinking don’t want paramedics called but at least they will be able to assess you and discuss course of action.

Hope you feeling much better soon

If your sats are dropping into the 70’s you need oxygen, and now! I’m not a Dr but am on 24/7 oxygen and do know you are not providing anywhere near sufficient oxygen to your lungs, heart , brain and other internal organs. Please get into A&E now!, judg69

Check your sat reader. Results that vary that much can be due to the batteries running out. As a lifelong bronch myself your symptoms do not sound like a typical exacerbation. As you must have experienced a bronch exacerbation means more mucus than usual which is often a darker colour. It sounds more as though you have a virus so a covid test asap. I am not a doctor so only speaking from my experience. You do need tp be seen by a doctor.

Have you done a covid test yet to eradicate that from your list of what it could be. ? X

Agree 100%.SATS very low but could be faulty reading. Need to get medical help now & exclude covid. Good luck!

Some very good advice already on here. Your symptoms are exactly how I feel at the very beginning of something worst to come, usually the full blown infection. I am not an expert on Sats so can't comment, have never thought to check mine despite having Bronch for 22 years, maybe something I should look into.

I would also definitely have a Covid test, agree with what everyone else is saying, you must rule it out as this seems sensible.

I do hope you feel better soon and do keep hydrated where possible 💐 tc
