Enjoying the night air and loving it

Like the drifters song I'm up on the roof I've got my frappa a slice of apple pie I made this afternoon I'm on my sun lounger and patiently waiting for it to go dark , a nice crescent moon is glowing a nice cool breeze which still smells a little of smoke but a clear night just not dark enough yet .

My mum taught me how to make it years ago I used to make it for my daughter , but here the lemons are better to make it with because their less tart their quite sweet . The last time I made some small ones about a dozen and took them down the taverna they didn't last long 😂😂😂

I have been enjoying the lovely clear sky but I just saw the donkey being taken back to lindos apparently he was here for a well earned holiday 😂 the neighbor across the road told me.

Well I've changed my dad's nappy all's quiet so going to the roof for another hour before trying to get some sleep well it is two hours in front of you guys in the UK 🤣🤣

It's so nice being on the roof and getting a cooling breeze it's so peaceful and obviously something I could not have done back in the UK because of unpredictable weather 🤣🤣

I am so jealous of where you are . I have holidayed in Pefkos on and off for the last 13 years it’s a beautiful resort and Lindos me and my hubby got married at St.Pauls bay , what a wonderful day we had. We have missed our annual Greek holiday due to covid but hoping to be back as soon as a bit more normal . How is over there with the covid? Last time we spent two weeks on Rhodes and a week in Symi which is another beautiful little island . Oh I wish I was there now 😌 . Enjoy you Apple pie by the way is the nick name for my Granddaughter as she is delicious xx

🤣 covid is on the rise were averaging about 100cases a day before we opened for tourists we had eight cases in a month then nothing. But yesterday we had 121 cases eleven were tourists seven from the UK and all beta variant so it looks like we could be facing the island shut down again , Thassos as the odd case Kos averages about four a day but Rhodes well what can I say 😂 loads of people get married in lindos .

The Greeks are good because they make sure that your special day is exactly that special . marriage is a big thing to them . I'm glad you enjoyed your day and the memories that go with it.

You should post the recipe and method for the pie Dave, I would be interested to see how you make it. There is only one next best thing to apple pie, that is apple and blackberry pie

My grandmother was a great pie maker, in the days of the walk in larder, the shelving was E shaped, on the lower shelf was the savoury pies, the next shelf up was Fruit pies then above that all the pickling and preserves, I sure did love that 2nd shelf up

Brambley àpple and fresh blackberry mmm can't get them here but I did make one with blueberries and apple that was nice but when you stew your Apple a stick of cinnamon and use brown sugar not white makes all the difference mmmm😋😋😋

The only thing I cheat on is my pastry it's quicker and easier to buy the pre rolled shirt crust pastry here they have semolina in most of the flour here. So the pre rolled stuff is better and when you have to be quick aswell 👍 but it is three good sized Bramley apples peeled cored and sliced into a saucepan with either ya blackberries or blue berries a stick of cinnamon and brown sugar to taste , my dad's got a sweet tooth so it has to be a bit sweeter .then stew slowly not in a rush let the cinnamon do it's job just remember to take it out when you're done . But when its in the oven I give it a little dusting off ground cinnamon on top with a little extra brown sugar . 😹😹😹It's the little touches
