Something in the air

Does anyone else have this:- whenever I open mail which arrives through the letterbox from one particular source, my nose feels as if there are millions of tiny particles in the air which are released when I splice open the paper envelope, so it feels that I'm not breathing 100% fresh air. So now I know to put on a mask before opening it. Does anyone else experience that?

Never experienced that.

Is this coming from a friend in the beauty industry, can understand of a reaction in such a case ;) :D

I think if anything like that caused such a reaction for me I would either cancel subscription, not buy from the company or just only open such envelopes outside the home, wearing gloves and a mask and dispose of the envelope immediately in outside bin.

leave the content in the shed for a couple of days (or outside in an airtight plastic container) wash hands before touching anything inside the home.

A lot of pollen about outside as well at the moment, anti histamine may help.

Thanks for the good advice Bkin. Wish I had a friend in the beauty industry - could do with some beauty treatment these days!! 😁 It's actually a magazine which arrives in envelope, both made of paper, and the mag has very thick paper pages. I'll do as you suggest and leave it outside for a while, thanks very much.😁

Some catalogues smell so strongly of printing ink that I bin them as soon as I open them. They usually come in unrecyclable clear plastic mail bags.

Yes you're so right - and those clear plastic environmentally-UNfriendly mail bags make me cross, grrr!

I think it has something to do with the paper perhaps being recycled, there are somethings that make me feel like that, tissues and toilet paper x

Yes, I've been wondering that. Interesting that you are affected by similar. I'm going to do as Bkin suggested and start leaving/opening mail outside, but that won't quite solve it for you regarding the toilet paper!!😁

Its more of a problem with the tissues as I constantly blow my nose due to sinus problems, I now buy the Kleenex balsam which seem a little better x
