Mother nature is working overtime Today . The fires in Turkey the ash cloud over us excessive heat as it's hitting at the moment fifty two degrees and to top the lot we have had four earthquakes the smallest being a 4.2 the largest being a 5.7 all four just off our coast line .
I fell off the loo when the 5.7 hit π€£π€£π€£π€£
We will have weather like this until maybe October beginning of November so just have to keep ticking along π€£ this year as definitely been the hottest for the longest time the heat started early this year , if it hit in the fifties today I hate to think what August will be because it's the hottest month , looking like I'm going to have to empty the freezer and sleep in that π€£π€£π€£
Sorry to hear about the fires, hopfully they will settle soon. Its awful with the smoke for our lungs. Hopefully wind direction, if any, will change and you will be able go out
Oh no you definitely don't want them π I'm kinda stuck between the devil and a hard place , in the UK the damp weather causes problems here it's fantastic unless we have a fire ππ
Really hope they go soon. The damp doesn't help me either. Since holidaying in the Greek islands every year since 1990, i have always been healthier, breathing good, not needing inhalers as much etc. Take care
I keep ticking along π€£π€£ making the most of what time is available . It's not like the UK here health care is different no hospice or palative care you go home until it's over , not a pleasant thought but one I've had to adjust to .
Bless you ,thinking of you. It's very scary being told you have "x" amount of time and it's a lonely place to be.Having been told I wouldn't make it past 50 I am still here 10 years later.
Hope the fires /smoke get under control soon and thinking of you and wishing you well
Thanking you ππ€ the people here always pull together to help each other , last night all the people who were evacuated from their homes were welcomed here at the beach given food and drink . Greeks are good people .ππ
Well they've been evacuating tourists from hotels I've been watching it on Greek TV ok I don't understand the language completely but you can understand by watching . What with fires earthquakes and excessive heat now power cut not having a good day can't even cool off in the freezer π₯΅π₯΅π₯΅
Must be awful for you Dave but worse for the other guy over the border I should think. Poor you Iβm not surprised you arenβt having a good day. Might get better by evening. πππ
I normally sit outside every night and have a good cooling off period but last night I was outside for about twenty minutes or so. Where the fires are is straight across from our beach so if I was down the beach I would see them . I feel for the people obviously but we have the same problem here it only takes a piece of glass in the right spot or someone disguarding a cigarette in the wrong place and whoosh there ya go
Seems you always need to be on fire watch out there. Iβve never been to Greece or Turkey so no idea what itβs like. Be careful and keep safe. The air canβt be good for your lungs! πππ
Just found out that the reason we have no electricity is we have a large fire in the next village to us which has the power station , so not just turkey suffering from fire we are powers out for the whole island . Helicopters are dropping water and so are the two planes we have on the island so not good at all π΅π΅π΅π΅
I have an app on my tablet called Volcano Discovery. Go to quakes in Europe and then Greece and you will find all your quakes listed with site and strength and time . Greece has had thousands in the past 30 days of different strengths and it there says you have just had another sizeable one at 15.50 gmt, today . Epicentre off Kos ithink I am glad it's not me . Frightening . It is free and gives info all over the world. Greece is always interesting as the there is the chain of volcanic islands. Milos ,santorini , nisyros, kos, rhodes. I hope it didnt do you any damage.
I have an earthquake tracker which covers the entire of Greece and islands including turkey , it's brilliant it tells me every thing depth time strength , all the Greeks have it π€£π€£ at the moment dealing with a bigger problem a big fire in next village so got to be ready if it heads my way
So you know about earthquakes first hand . I have only experienced one little one and I thought a lorry had hit a bump in the road too fast. ! Glad you know about the tracker. Is the whole island affected by the ash ? Take care .
I was here when the 7.4 hit my bed was going round like a scene from the exorcist π lots of damage caused , our side of the island affected not lindos side mountains between us π€£π€£
That is a very large earthquake . Usually makes the news here but it's all about the Turkish fires and tourists being evacuated. I hope the fire in next village doesnt spread.
I hope you managed to get some sleep last night and that at least the Rhodes fire is out now. And that the earthquakes calm down. The earth is protesting loudly at the moment it seems. I trust that life is easier for you today and that you can take your meds.
To true but sometimes people think I don't take my health situation seriously ,, the pulmonologist said at the meeting I recently had , that my condition is extremely serious and I don't seem to take it seriously I said it's how I deal with it and no one should tell me how I should deal with it at the end of the day stressing out only makes matters worse not just for the person but the people around them . ππ
We all behave differently when it comes to our health conditions. As long as your taking care of yourself, eating healthy, sleeping well and staying happy thats enough. I'd rather have a good sense of humour rather then sit there feeling depressed all day. As long as your taking your health condition seriously and taking care of yourself that's all that matters π
I know the score with my condition I've accepted it, I take my Meds eat healthy which is easy here π€£π and fortunately I do have a sense of humour . π€£π€£π€£
I'll still be laughing the day I wake up dead and go tell my dad he's got to do his own nappy . If you have no sense of humour you will go under so I try to keep happy and make people laugh when I can π€£π€£π€£
Oh Davey1963 what an awful situation to be in ! Can you not get an air purifier? We have a Dyson that is brilliant for controlling air quality ( though how effective it would be in your situation I donβt know π€·π»ββοΈ) At least you have a positive attitude and are able to keep on laughing . I will appeal to the universe to keep you safe and send rain ( or at least keep you from being on a toilet should another quake hit π) Sending love and prayers β€οΈπ
Yes I must admit a toilet isn't the best place to be during an earthquake π€£π€£ I could imagine being pulled out of the rubble we've found another one but he's asking for a wet wipe and another five minutes π€£π€£π€£
ππ€£ππ€£. Donβt think Iβd need another 5 minutes - youβve got the most effective cure known to man there for constipation ! π€£ every cloud β¦β¦π€£
Yes but as they've said that because of the fire in Turkey aswell as our own fire the ash cloud is causing the heat to build up more , even though there's breaks in the clouds the heat is just building up should be better once the fires are out well that's what it's been saying on the Greek news reports anyway . All I know it's extremely hot and the smell of smoke is driving me crazy it's everywhere. π€£π€£π€£
Feeling pretty fed up at the moment I've come outside on my varanda I've got my mask on , but can't see one star not one . I always come back outside when I've had my Meds and sit looking at the stars while my Meds settle .
I wondered that you have a starry sky at all with the fires and ash. Well let's hope the stars will be back for you soon and they tackle the fires! Thinking of you constantly! π€
For some unknown reason it's quite hot tonight we'll hotter than normal , the smell of smoke as thinned down and we had a cooling breeze earlier but that cooling breeze as Got very hot . I'm having to think before I type at moment I've had a string of seizures this past couple of hours something I haven't had before their usually spread out through the day , not one after another , thanking predictive text π
