No matter how hard i tried keeping my distance and washing my hands 30 times a day the dreaded Covid has got through and now on day 7 of a positive PCR test from hospital.
Fever of 38.9, poker throat and a headache which denies you ANY sleep are the main symptoms.
They are sending me down oral Morphine to hopefully calm things down .
Mrs B just also tested positive but mercifully she has got the milder version and appears quite relaxed in the greenhouse in between chicken soup runs upstairs.
My prayers this week are the virus doesn’t further damage my IPF lungs and we can continue down the eventual transplant road in due course.
Stay safe all of you!!!

So very sorry to hear this Mr. b. To have evaded the virus for so long only to succumb now must be almost soul destroying. Wishing you and your wife a full recovery asap with no after effects. xxx
So sorry to hear that and hopefully you have no lasting problems. I've been shielding since winter in 2919 to avoid the flu and then Covid, I've been terrified of getting Covid. Boris opened things up too soon given the increase in cases.
Are you sure you haven't developed dyslexia and the hospital are acutualy sending you more merlot to sooth things down and hasten your recovery?Best wishes to you and Mrs B and hoping you are both on the upward trend very soon.
Sorry to hear you have caught the c19 after trying to keep yourself safe, the morphine will help ( funnily enough whilst I was in hospital with covid there was 1 point were I could have morphine but not paracetamol which was what I wanted but I was grateful of the oramorph once or twice during the first couple of days, best wishes for a quick recovery.
Oh dear I'm so sorry to hear this Mr B. Hope the two jabs give you some protection and that you feel better as soon as possible. Drink plenty (of the non alcoholic variety)
Oh. I am so sad that this is happening to you. I hope that it all feels better soon and that the transplant is on target for that celebration. I hope the morphine helps replace the Merlot. Grace
So sorry to hear this. Hope you both recover quickly, do take good care of yourself and ring us if you need a chat with a nurse. Our Post Covid Hub has tips on recovery. I have added the link below.
I swearing for you ****** **** Its just so unfair but not unexpected. We knew it was too soon but we are not "experts" just people with Common sense & sadly weakened immunity Hope today is feeling less hot & sore throaty today
Oh dear , so sorry to hear this news ...I do sincerely hope things will improve for you .... I offer my prayers for you and for the world in these very difficult times , - its almost impossible to believe that some foolish people think that this disease does'nt even exist , and others refuse the vaccination ..........God bless
Really so sorry to hear the bad news that you’re off the Merlot! In all seriousness though, I hope it‘s not long till you are both feeling much better. Such bad luck when you’ve been so careful. A lot of us here are thinking of you a d sending warmest wishes.
Hope you recover soon with no lasting effects to impair your transplant options. You are not alone many of us have had a year to make you swear that has impacted our health. But hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel. Stay as calm as can be and rest , that will help the recovery .
So much for the two jags being a great protection. So many people seem to be catching it who are double vaccinated. I hope you feel better soon. I feel “their” idea of mild illness might not be the same as ours! Let us know how things go.
