Great to read the posts regarding COPD, I was diagnosed two months ago and it has worried me since the diagnosis but after reading the posts on how people live with the condition I feel far more positive. I was placed on Spiria Respimat which has helped a lot, although i do find it hard to inhale, was going ask my doctor if there’s any other medication that would be easier to inhale. If anyone has had the same inhaling problem with Spiriva and found an alternative I really like to hear from you.

Welcome Tony,

Spiriva Respimat is one of the easier inhalers, check again the patient information leaflet that comes with the medicine.

But do speak with your doctor who may be able to offer you a spacer for use with ventolin to use about 20 mins before using the Respimat inhaler so that airways are more open.

Best wishes

No real problem although you sometimes wonder if you've inhaled long enough, got to go out now will chat later. Regards

I was on spiriva respimat but since starting a clinical trial they’ve change all my inhalers (symbicort and spiriva) to Trelegy. I watched utube video and there could be others on there how to use - there’s a technique and it’s about keeping your head straight chin slightly up and make sure you exhale all you can before inhaling the treatment.

I use a spacer with the Spiriva Respimat. Do check with your doctor first if you’re going to try that, as apparently it’s not correct. But I find it much easier to inhale with a spacer.

I did the same when I was on that. 😀 It worked for me until I was taken off it and put on the Ventolin Accuhaler 200.
