Hello Christina, I'm sorry you are having such a rough time. I suffer with bronchiectasis and chronic rhinitis. As a result I am practically deaf in one ear and waiting to have grommets fitted. I also have acid reflux and take Omaprazole for it. All these conditions are often connected. What lung disease do you have? Daily clearance is vital for our well being. I use the huffing method and an acapella to clear the mucus from my lungs. I also use a n Aqueous nasal spray (Flixonase), twice daily for the rhinitis which is proving helpful. I have also been advised to raise the head of my bed using bricks. I haven't done so as yet as I need somebody to do this for me. I hope the anti biotics help you to recover soon. It really can be a distressing time. Roll on Spring and better weather.

Best wishes, Chrys

Hi, I have severe asthma and did used to have lots of sinus infections and post nasal drip, which would eventually turn to a chest infection and cause severe asthma attacks. However, my consultant put me on a steroid nasal spray and since then the sinus problems have been so much better! I still get the odd days with pain in my cheeks, but in the scheme of the issues I used to have, I’m so much better. Also, I hardly get the post nasal drip now too.

Do you have any treatment for sinus problems?

No I don’t have anything I just take pain killers have bought some nasal over the counter spray Sterimar. I can’t even wear my glasses as it starts my headache.

Hi, I suffer with constant sinus infections and I also have severe asthma and bronchiectasis and have a tough time with both (i.e Always seem to have a chest infection that started out on my sinuses) I’m currently seeing the sinus consultant at the hospital and I’ve just had a mri scan on my sinuses,The consultant did however recommend the sinus rinse ‘Neilmed’ (you can get it on Amazon) I’ve been taking this for a month now and even though I’ve had a chest infection since taking this I do feel the neilmed rinse is brilliant for clearing your sinuses,i use it 3 times a day,Hope this helps 😊

That’s a relief that you are seeing a consultant, did your GP refer you as I can’t seem to get anywhere with mine . Mind you I’ve not seen the GP either just phone consultation & I just get oh dear but with Covid there’s nothing we can do . So frustrating x

Hi,It was my chest/lung consultant who asked the ENT department at my local hospital to take a look into my case as he originally also did a ct scan around my head because of my headaches,I’ve also got polyps and suffer from post nasal drip,I’m hoping after 2 years of back and forth to the hospital for scans and appointments I’m finally going to see some improvement in my condition,I’m lucky enough to have a good relationship with my doctor and she’s also just given me a dymsista nasal spray so hopefully that works.

Hi, I’ve been using the Neilmed rinse for about 5 yrs with decent results for clearing sinus mucus which helps with keeping Bronchiectasis in check. The ENT man suggested using a Salt/ Bicarbonate solution in the Neil med and that is very easy to use.

Hi,My consultant did mention to me about using Baka soda and salt but do you use normal salt or sea salt ?

I just use normal table salt, I do have sea salt and Epsom salts available but never thought to try them. Could be worth a try.

Hell isn’t it , it has taken months to get anything to work right for me . I am now using a saline rinse & a neti pot from Amazon twice a day & a nasal spray from the Doctor plus an antihistamine & doctors have mentioned polyps but say with Covid that will have to wait to be diagnosed. The headache can be so painful & the resulting post nasal drip creates more mucus which messes with your lungs . I did have to have antibiotics and prednisone in the end because I developed a nasty cough. Hope that you sort it soon..

So sorry you're feeling rough. I think we lungies leave it too long to seek help, because we don't want to bother the doctor. There's a moral there. Hope you're soon feeling better.
