I am suffering terribly with sinus problems which are making my breathing problems (from COPD) a lot worse. Has anyone else with similar problems benefited from using an air purifier

I do use an air purifier and I do find it helpful for more than just sinus probs. I have the dyson pure air, its expensive but so glad I have it. Its a good investment for any one with breathing problems I think.
Briefly I use, Vicks saline nasal spray. Nasofed amd Sterimar Stop and Protect for Colds and sinus protection - pretty much safe to use daily, or switch every so often from one to the other, at least that is what I do.
Steam inhalation is another option daily or the Neilmed nasal rinse, but I find that can put more pressure on the sinuses.
The nasal sprays with Oxymetazoline in works well but only safe to use them max 5 days in a row I think as there are side affects with them. ~Check out the cautions.

I haven't but called my lung doctor and he immediately put me on antibiotics.my face felt swollen and I couldn't even touch the outside of my right nostril. Not sure what was going on.
I suffer terribly with my sinuses, I have extreme headaches. The only thing I can say is, use atrovent inhaler to open up your lungs, it's the only thing that helps me, I have tried and bought everything to keep sinuses clear nothing really works, you have to work on the lungs. Hope this helps you.
I suffered from sinusitis for 6 years in my 40's. and was constantly treated with antibiotics What many GP's don't know is that there are 2 types of of this bug, namely "acute and "chronic" the acute type is treated by antibiotics but this will not get rid of the chronic version (long term) , if you are suffering from this, it is due to a fungal infection, this can be cured by using an eye dropper to inject a strong saline solution into each nostril (lean your head forward so the nostril works like a funnel and hold to let the liquid penetrate the sinus cavities) do this twice a day. I did this and it was cleared after 4 days and I have never had it since! I got this info via a specialist on a USA website. The saline sterilises, reduces the inflammation, thins the mucus and kills the fungus.
Give it a try, it will help either way. Good luck! John.
