There is a chap a,ctually raving on radio 4 at 1 30 today that he was promised that the vaccine was the answer . He doesn't know what the vaccine actually does and he is typical of many people. They only hear what they want to hear!

Vaccine
"They only hear what they want to hear!" Or what they are told by our 'venerable leaders'!
I haven't made my mind up yet, I just don't know what to do for the best.
The vaccine side effects are better than getting covid surely and many people do not have sideeffects
Don't hesitate. It will give you protection from the eextreme effects of covid but also reduces transmission to others . Each person who has vaccine helps both themselves and others. Admittedly i am used to having vaccines . I worked with infectious organisms all my working life , so was given many injections which protected me and others, my partner , family and friends. It was routine and i accepted it. A benefit when i went abroad on holidays too.Why are you worried about it.? Can I help?
I chose to have it as to me it was a no brainer, rather risk having a few side effects than get Covid and being CEV possibly not survive it or have long lasting effects from the disease. I have had my first jab and for a couple of days felt like I had no energy but by day three was back to doing my daily indoor exercises. I do worry about how many people seem to be anti-vax. Surely we do it not only to protect ourselves but to protect others so we can all come out of this safer.
I am not an anti vaxer, I have had all my jabs for seasonal flu and for traveling around southeast Asia. My concerns around this one are 1) For me there is not enough known about it's long term effects and 2) I live alone so if I get a reaction I have no one to help me.
Your concerns are totally understandable but the vaccines have all passed rigorous testing and hopefully you wouldn’t have any side effects or very mild at least. Pete was fine and glad he was vaccinated.
The long term effects can be much worse if people survive. The variants are a worry too.
Hope you can make an informed decision. Xxx
Fully understand, I also live on my own but felt I had to take the risk as my doctor and my hospital consultant had put it to me that if I were to get Covid it wouldn't be a very good outcome for me so I felt that I had to take the risk on the vaccine. I apologise if you thought I labelling you as Anti Vax as I was not. I hope that you make the best decision for you. xx
Under stand completely and I live alone too . Trouble is we haven't the time to wait and see
Given my own individual situation I might be more inclined to take up on the Pfizer vaccine if it was offered to me as opposed to the AZ, but as that is not going to happen where I am I will risk waiting. My husband, who is my carer, had the AZ yesterday and as an extremely fit and healthy 73 year old man is very poorly with side effects today. I made my choice after consultations about my particular set of circumstances and so it should be for all of us whether medical conditions are involved or not.
I'm not at all surprised there are a lot of people who are confused as to what these vaccines are supposed to achieve. The misinformation put out by the media, social media and government agencies at different times has been astoundjng. At the very beginning of the advent of the vaccines we were led to believe by the powers-at-be that this was the answer to the crisis being resolved but in the ensuing weeks with more and more information coming to light, that euphoria has somewhat dampened down to what I would call damage limitation. People thought this was going to be a cure and an end to catching the virus, now they find that that is an unlikely scenario and a way of safeguarding the NHS, which is good in and of itself but it's not what was promised in some folks minds.
I had decided that I would prefer Pfizer but my circumstances meant only Zenenca was available so went along with that as better to at least reduce chances of getting covid.
