Chest CT score 13/25 in covid positive patients
I’m sorry I haven’t any idea what 13/25 CT scan refers to.I do hope things improve for your father. The doctor was very hopeful so that is good.
Hi, I have had several chest CT scans but no one has ever mentioned a scoring system. I hope that your dad recovers well from the covid infection.
I believe the score is a correlation of the levels of infection and inflammation due to covid evident in the lungs. With a score of 25 being the highest level. It is used to determine the appropriate treatment.
In this article, I found how the score was determined. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...
“A semi-quantitative CT score was calculated based on the extent of lobar involvement (0:0%; 1, < 5%; 2:5–25%; 3:26–50%; 4:51–75%; 5, > 75%; range 0–5; global score 0–25).“ A score of 1 to 5 for each of the 5 lobes of the lung.Best wishes for your father's quick recovery.
Hi Kpacific Yes you are correct, it's called CT severity score 13 out of 25 and he is on his third day on remdesivir and doing well
