Hi. I'd like to wish everyone here a Peaceful Christmas, or indeed Yule if nature is your spiritual home.
I'm an 82 year old multiply disabled pensioner with a limited income and I'm wondering if anyone knows of a computer programme that will block websites with the word 'donate!'

I have rampant Emphysema but i burn logs for fun in my finca,it is the only way of managing my land and keeping warm in the winter but thankfully the nearest neighbor lives some distance away from me. π
Best wishes micox but sorry, I can't help with the website thing. I can sympathise though as we seem to be inundated with donation requests especially at this time of year. I sometimes think that if I gave to them all I'd have nowt left!
thank you micox and the same to you. Don't know of a programme to block websites but there are ones with options to block words, blowed if I can remember the name now.
However if you did block all websites with word donate, you would not be able to access a lot of legitimate websites, including BLF's informative pages, Age UK and possibly here at HU. Such action could restrict your access to sites that you may otherwise be interested in. Its purely optional if you want to donate or not.
Thank you for your kind wishes. I hope too that it is a peaceful christmas for all and that the new year will bring us freedom from this awful pandemic. ( incidentally, i donβt burn logs either, i have copd and i keep away from any kind of burning,) if i smell woodsmoke in the air i put mask and scarf round my face. Years ago it didnt bother me, but since having copd it is a dangerous thing, very unpleasant. In fact there is a warning about log burners and people should take heed.!
