I'm still wiping the tears away Don. You will be missing Midge more than ever at the moment I'm sure. Such desperately sad times we are experiencing again and who knows when its all going to end. We have to expect the vaccine to get us out of this mess though so try to keep cheerful as you keep us going, and hopefully the new year will see marked changes in our lives.Best wishes.
Brought a tear to my eye Don. I still think of my labrador and Jack Russell that crossed the rainbow bridge within a year of each other over 10 years ago. Our canine companions are always with us in our hearts.
I knew the meaning of Sally forth but have not heard that phrase for quite while. I hope that there are still more adventures in store for you and the girls when the time is right xxx
Brought a Tear also. Sally Forth & Tally Ho comes to mind, Onwards Dear Don with Sally & Dolly, Midge will be keeping an Eye on her Loving Family as we all are.. ๐๐๐๐โค๏ธ๐
Being nosey I had to google sally forth .......โ sally a military noun used since 16th c ...a sudden spring forth of besieged troops to defend against attack โ
Now I know ....sally sounds a bit like the French allez ..to go.
Amazing what you learn on this site...thank you Don.
What a lovely piccy, tho tears fell into my lemon drizzle cake!
Iโm sure your missing Midge but you will meet again at rainbow bridge.
When my brothers and I were kids we had a little mirror dinghy on Coniston Water when we pushed her we always used to say โSally Forthโ as you should do when next on a camper van trip whenever that may be.
I also saw on E Bay some hand knitted toys and bought a bundle of 7 items including 3 scarecrows in lovely outfits. Bought them for my daughter to keep at her house for when her 3 grandchildren under 2 visit. They had a nice wash in the washing machine . Felt like keeping one myself when they arrived last Friday.
My Sally will be posing for you all when I get around to it. I have heard of the expression ,โSally forthโbut a long time ago. Reminded me too of the old Gracie Fields song, Sally in our Alley. Love Iris x
We bought a large caravan and last year toured Spain and Portugal. This year, although parked outside our house been in use every week. My wife has physio 3 times per week and the height of the bed in van is just right, and he does not mix with rest of family. Even so, look forward to getting back on the road with our 2 mini-wire dachsies.
Best wishes for this festive season and lets all look forward to 2021 with fingers crossed.
Caravans parked in the drive come in useful for all sorts of occasions don't they. You remind me of my wife and I twenty years ago. ๐ Dachshunds are great little characters, any chance of a photo of your two? Wishing you and your wife a Merry Christmas and I hope the physio is working well for your wife.
Not a problem but I`ll leave wife to sort out photos, Mini-wire dachs, whippets and afghans not to mention persion cats and arab horses, take your pick.
We all look forward to sallying forth in 2021. It will be almost a year before any of us can sally forth. I look forward to sallying forth but my car will need lots of attention before that. My once white car now has gone a shade of green . Hate to tnink of what i cant see.
Itโs not possible to attach photos to a reply only to a new message. I see from your profile that you haven't posted anything about yourself at all yet have mentioned a few interesting facts in your replies to my posting. I gather that you live in France, run some kind of animal sanctuary and your wife spends time in your caravan with a gentleman for some reason. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
I`d clicked on your avatar and saw windmills out at sea, so assumed East coast, forgot that there are windmills off west cost of Scotland. Long time since we`ve been up north. After reflection, at least 40 years ago. First went to Scotland with parents, about 60 years ago. Wonderful colours in autumn around Loch Lomand and further north. Last visit was to Stirling when my brother-in-law passed his degree and we went to ceremony.
Time to leave computer and concentrate on aperitif, i.e. glass of wine or two.
That view is from alongside the Crosby Lifeguard Station, a favourite perch of mine. Those wind turbines are popping all around the coastlines (much to my disgust) but it is great for watching the shipping going in and out of the Port of Liverpool. The area is famous for another reason which you can read about here liverpoolecho.co.uk/whats-o...
