Harlech Castle

Men of Harlech said the song

So Dolly and Sally had heard

I told them that was yonks ago

But they would not believe a word.

So we had to stop so they could see

And it was empty as empty could be

Lovely Photo Don, Sally & Dolly , where is Midge, no doubt Sleeping. XXX

Yes, their constant chatter tends to have effect on Midge but keeps me awake on long journeys. 😉

I think she’s having too much fun to be tidy 🎉

in reply toHungryHufflepuff

Dolly still has her basket of mushrooms Sally’s is empty. I think that might have something to do with it.🤔

Although the scarecrow chick appeared to be high on class A psilocybin mushrooms the traffic police officer couldn't prove anything given the lack of evidence and Don was allowed to continue on with his journey.:) x

Gosh that’s a view I’ve seen many times, Don. Our border collie dog Flora loved a good run on the beach at Harlech, usually chasing a rubber ball. She had a sense of humour, she knew we’d come and pick the ball up when she eventually dropped it, and she began to drop it in the shallows. If it was winter and we weren’t paddling, so grumped at her, she’d drop it a bit further into the deeper water the next time, and the next, then scoot out before a wave caught her. Happy memories! Enjoy your time there.

in reply toYatzy

I think Border Collies are the clearest of breeds Jack Russells the comedians.😀 The beaches all along this coast are wonderful and so little used in most places.

Yes, I think you’re right there, Don. We had a couple of Jack Russells when I was young (a while ago now!

It’s a lovely part of the world, I know it well, from childhood onwards. Don’t get there so often these days, lost our lovely Flora five years ago, but do try to make a point of a walk there, and a bag of chips, on her birthday each year. Softies!! ❤️

Glad to see you getting out and about Don, Sally and Dolly must be having fun, am surprised Midge hasnt has fun with them. My daughters dog would have chewed them up by now x

in reply toIzb1

Midge has always been very good like that, give her a toy and it’s destroyed in seconds. But has never chewed anything not hers. I’m tempting providence here I know.🤔

Do you have a kitchen and bathroom in your campervan?

in reply toHungryHufflepuff

Sure do, never go anywhere without my bathroom. 😉

HungryHufflepuff in reply to

That’s so nice, it’s like your house on wheels 😊

in reply toHungryHufflepuff

It's a lot smaller of course, fits in a supermarket parking space no problem. You need to adapt when living in it for any length of time and then adapt again to take account of your wonky lungs. There's where I was going wrong, trying to do as I always have done. You need to slow right down and think carefully before you attempt anything. Missed a years enjoyment because of that but now think I have it sorted. Takes me twice as long to do anything, but who cares apart from the terrible sisters? Midge just falls in with whatever type of living we do remarkably well. Finds the campervan quicker than me when I lose it on a really big car park.😂

majji profile image
majji in reply to

If you enjoy it Cap'n why worry if things takes longer to accomplish - all that matters is that you get pleasure from what you do achieve - I think you are pretty marvellous - just drive safely x

HungryHufflepuff profile image
HungryHufflepuff in reply tomajji

Totally. And getting there slowly leaves more time for experiencing the adventure along the way. More haste less Yorkshire puddings, as I like to say.

I just read this quote by André DeShields (no I’d never heard of him either) and it made me think of you, or at least this conversation:

Slowly is the fastest way to get to where you want to be.
