Notification of vaccine from Doctor

To our surprise yesterday we received notification from our doctors surgery that we are likely to be called for our covid vaccine by mid December. We are both 73 so surprised being 4th in-line that we’ve received the paperwork already. We have two bar code numbers that we need to take with us , one for the initial dose and the other for the second dose. There is of course no guarantee that it will be mid December but impressed with the organisation by the surgery. Have any others received their letters from local surgery?

I got a text asking me if I wanted the vaccination or not , and to text my reply back.I am group 4 I think.

No nothing here, nor my elderly parents who are in their mid to late 80s! But still time yet I guess, although we are not far of mid December.

I would have thought most here are group 4 and others in an even higher priority group.

Gosh thats good for you Piper21 and so nice and quick.

Like many others I’m in group 4 too, and I haven’t heard anything as yet.

I did see that our Doctors Surgery is participating in this enormous task, whereas two local hospitals were originally on the list of 50 with facilities, but understand now be at a later date.

Tbh I’m unsure if this also relates to the fact cases are sadly rising quite fast in our area of Kent too.

Good night and stay safe everyone. X

Yes I must admit I’m impressed with the organisation, have to say the flu jab was organised and done by September 18th also.

My wife and had had our vaccines yesterday, Friday at the Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough common, Orpington. 2nd jabs on 7th January.

Excellent news skipwork, may I ask what group you are in ? Hopefully you both are free of aches and pains and it didn’t give either of you any problems?

I am vulnerable and aged 83. When they phoned I asked, 'Can my wife (aged 81) come in for hers as well, to save 4 journeys? They said, 'Yes'.

Must feel good skipwork to know your half done. Have either of you had any side effects from it ?

Slightest dull ache in spot where injection took place. Hardly noticeable.

Any others had these problems? I have severe Brochiectasis and have had my vaccine, but am now finding more 'blockages' in my lungs even after doing long lung clearances (3 times a day) and taking the right medication. There is too much coughing and clearing later all morning. The Pharmacist says the vaccine will affect the lungs temporality. I thought this information might be helpful for others wondering what had happened.

Thank you for that information, that’s really good to be aware of and I hope your lungs will soon settle down. I’m still waiting for mine but will post if I have any problems, How has your wife reacted, has she noticed any congestion? Doesn’t seem as though anyone else has received the vaccine yet .

Reactions to the vaccine. My wife is ok, but then she doesn't have any lung problems.
