Humidifiers....?

Hi all.

After trying nebulised saline & deciding that’s probably not for me, i thought I’d look into a humidifier again for use at night. Just to add a little moisture to the air as the general humidity seems to have dropped dramatically.

Does anyone use them or know of a good brand?

Thanks everyone 🥰 xx

I’m the same. Seems to be when the humidity drops during colder weather I wake up with”dry lungs” Horrible sensation & need to drink copious amounts of water before being able to expel anything. What make of humidifier do you have? 😊

Nebulised saline doesn’t work for me , I tried a humidifier but it was a cheap brand that ended up being thrown out .You have to take care with cleaning a humidifier .

I am going to try bowls of water near radiators next , I have a humidity monitor and also an app linked to my air filter machine which gives a humidity reading .

I also get reminders from the NHS to open my windows to air the house.

I have bowls of water & damp towels on radiators, but think I need a little more 🙈 Hope you manage to get the balance right fir you 🤞😊 x

I have a Levoit humidifyer. It is fairly new and I have been a bit confused as to how and when I used it, Since I came out of hospital had two nights without it on, struggling to breathe with very dry chest caused by antibiotic reducing the mucus so much. I had it on all last night and the difference was startling, no prob breathing at all. So keeping it on low all day in my bedroom.

That sounds like it’s perfect for you! It’s so hard getting the balance right isn’t it? 🙈I’ll have to see if I can pick one up. Thank you 😊 xx

Can I ask which Levoit humidifier you bought? How much water does it hold? I bought a little one that throws up super fine mist but it doesn’t seem to be doing much. It doesn’t alter the humidity in my room according to my monitor. Many thanks

It’s a 1.8 L Cool Mist Humidifyer and Essential Oil Diffuser. It has three different strengths of mist and a nighttime which judges the atmosphere. I was using purified water as it says but now empty it every day and it seems ok with tap water. £49.99 from Amazon

Brilliant... thank you. Clever that it detects the humidity in the atmosphere itself! That sounds perfect 😊xx

I hope that it helps you. Of course room size is important and we are all different.
