Update on John

Good Morning everyone hope you are as well as can be. John had his long awaited consultant meeting yesterday with results of his PET scan. She stated that his lungs haven’t deteriorated further which is good news. They suggested that his SOB could be down to his hiatus hernia and are making him an appointment with the Digestive Department, although not sure what can be done as 4 years ago when he sought help for his hernia, they found he had a damaged esophagus and could not operate. The only fly in the ointment is they saw something on his colon which they said could be a glip on the X-ray or they were not ruling out a tumor so John is to have a colonoscopy. So good and bad news. Just hoping also that his breathing improves, back on steroids and a new steroid inhaler. Take care all. Carole xxx

I am feeling a bit Better now Carole, Thank you, When I had an ecg and scan, Last Year, I was told I had a small blockage right side of Heart( can't remember the Medical Term) that was probably causing my Severe Breathlessness, No action was taken. So, as I have been Breathless all these Months I wonder if that is still my problem. ? I shall await for Nurse Carolyn to phone me, and discuss with her. Hopefully John will get sorted out with answers. Much Love to you Both. C. XXX

Excellent news on the lungs Carole and colons are notorious for having lumps and bumps which nine times out of ten amount to nothing and hopefully this will be proven albeit uncomfortable with the drain rods with a camera.

Wishing you and John calmer times over the coming months.

Love Skis and Scruffy 🙂😻x

Well, Johns appt seem to be a bit of swings and roundabouts. Good news on the lung front, with regard to the colonoscopy the prep is worse than the examination. I’ve had several and all have turned out to be clear but good they are checking.

Love and hugs

Good news that John's lungs haven't detoriated and fingers crossed that the x ray on colon is just a glip. For the first time the shortage of breath I have been suffering for over a week isnt down to an infection and so had to come of the antibiotics and just take the steroids, the doctor doesn't know what is going on but cant do breathing tests until this covid has died down a little. She suspects something else is developing but doesnt know what, so its a waiting game for me. Hope John feels better soon x

Thank you for your reply Izb1. It is certainly a puzzle what is going on with being SOB for you and John. I have my suspicions it is John’s Hiatus Hernia that is causing his. Hopefully you will find the answer to your breathing problem. Carole

Thanks Carole, I have wondered about a hernia, although the doctor said last week she suspects I am developing asthma as well, I dont think this is the case myself but wont be taking any other meds until things are confirmed. It never ends does it x
