It's my sad duty to report the death of Jambo (John) early on Sunday morning at his home in Lincoln. Before his illness got worse he was a regular on here and had many friends. I am proud to say that he was my friend too. John was a most compassionate man, always asking after the wellbeing of others. He served for many years in the Grenadier Guards.
His passing will bring sadness to many. RIP old mate.

John we are all going to miss you so very much. Our loss is heavens gain. It was such an honour to know you. You were so brave, kind and witty and so loyal to your friends and family. I have never met anyone like you despite your suffering you were always there for others, never moaning or complaining. Even when you were told at Christmas you only had a few months left, your only thoughts were for your wife and family I Will never forget you. A loyal soldier who served his country most of his life, and was proud to. At only 55 you are gone to soon. We need more Johns in this world.
Love and hugs to someone I was so lucky to have known, It was an honour. I will miss you so much.

John, it was my pleasure to know you. You were always kind, caring and helpful. Despite your suffering in recent months you never complained, and handled your situation in a way that was truly inspirational, brave and full of compassion for those you left behind. I am sorry I didn't know you for longer. You are not suffering now, and may you rest in peace my friend.
